Booking our first ever trip to DL next summer and here is what we are looking at and would like opinions. I'm including the costs for the 4 of us (including park tickets)

Hyatt Regency 2599

Cambria 2901

The Anaheim 3008

I know at the HR and Cambria we'd need to take ART which is not a big deal but trying to get opinions before we pull the trigger.

You didn’t say how many days you’re going, This is an unbelievable price for a 10 day vacation, a horrible price for a 1 night trip.

The Hyatt Regency has a designated shuttle that people say is very convenient and reliable. I've considered staying there, it has great reviews. (I assume you meant Hyatt Regency Orange County)

If the Anaheim is walking distance, though, I might go with that just because it's so nice to just walk back to your hotel vs. taking a shuttle.

The Anaheim is about a 7-10 minute walk to the property. Yes, I meant HR OC

I stayed at The Anaheim in Sept 2021 and my room was old and looked nothing like the nice, clean, modern rooms on the website. Maybe they were in the middle of the refurb and I just got stuck with an old room, but I wouldn’t stay there again. But the distance was good, just a quarter mile from my room to the gates of the parks.

Did you consider either Hyatt House or Hyatt Place? Both are closer to the park than Hyatt Regency. Both include breakfast.

They were either not available or more expensive. Cambria does include breakfast.

I've stayed at the Hyatt Regency, but not the other two. I think breakfast is a huge value added. For us, it saves both time and $$.

For Cambria, you can also walk to the Toy Story lot and use the free shuttle. In the mornings you go through security at Toy Story lot and then bypass security at the drop off location. Security is at toy story until 11am. That is what we did when we stayed at Cambria. We really liked the included breakfast and it was nice to have some dining options in the same parking lot (Starbucks, Jersey mikes, habit burger). Have a fun trip!

I've stayed at The Anaheim Hotel and am planning on staying there next October. The distance can't be beat for the price. It's a 7-8 minute walk and other than crossing, the entire walk is on a sidewalk off the main road. It was me and my best friend and we are rope drop to close with a brief nap/pool break after lunch type of people. We really just need a place to sleep. The hotel is older but has cosmetic upgrades (mid-century modern). We were on the first floor and had a huge private patio area with a table, chairs, and loungers. The pool is huge and we took advantage of the hot tub every day. It's also pretty cool to walk out of your room and see Guardians.

I can't speak for the other hotels but I always feel like I'm wasting precious park time with shuttles and such. If you need a clean, close, and relatively inexpensive (in comparison to some neighboring hotels) place to stay, The Anaheim Hotel fits the bill in my opinion!

Have you looked at the Fairfield Inn? This is our favorite hotel with a 7-10 minute walk. They do not have breakfast but McDonald’s and I think Panera is there. They also have a Pizza Hut in the hotel. Great for lunches.

Search out the recent reviews of ART. I wouldn't stay at a place where I had to use it again. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal either but we had to coordinate our morning schedule around the shuttles, then waiting in a line to make sure we hit that ie 8:00AM pickup.
I have since always liked the idea of just getting up, do breakfast and then head to the parks as we pleased, hence the stays at HOJO, BWPPI and upcoming at BWAPI.
I know this is all personal preference and for some riding the ART is not a big deal but for me I just don't want to wait in lines before we even hit the parks.

We just stayed at the Element and absolutely loved it. About a 12 minute walk depending, but we just took Uber didn't bother with ART. Uber was about $6/each way so worked out to the same as using ART for 3 days with mid day breaks. Uber was right there and quick, so I would definitely do that again instead of ART (we used that last time). I prefer a nicer hotel with free hot breakfast and large rooms with fridge, microwave, etc so the Element was perfect for us! I would happilyl stay there again.

Hi Eddie,
I read about a new hotel in Anaheim called Solara Inn And Suites on Yelp and from what I learned about it the Solara Inn And Suites is really nice and you can walk to Disneyland easily. And the prices are excellent and there really were no complaints on Solara Inn And Suites and the only complaint I read on Yelp is that the fireworks from Disneyland can get loud if you have a bottom floor room. My advice to you Eddie is give Solara Inn And Suites a call and ask if they are running any specials and you might have a chance and get a good deal on your room there
Hope this advice helps you Eddie and have a great Disneyland trip,
Dodger

We had friends recently stay at the Cambria and their comment was: Guess we should have done more research… (They did not ask me, BTW). They ended up Ubering to the park as the ART was a hassle. I would lean toward the anaheim Inn in this instance.

I am not a fan of hotel breakfasts so that wouldn’t sway me - I would rather just Instacart some easy foods and that way we can get going much faster (ie the kids can eat cereal while I’m finishing getting ready, etc.)

Hyatt House probably won't open bookings for next summer until later this year, they just made January 2024 available in the past week. Definitely recommend checking again as your dates get closer, assuming you book something refundable before then and can switch if the rates are good. Hard to beat being able to walk to the parks and free breakfast!

I have no experience with the Anaheim but the Hyatt Regency is one of my favorite hotels in the area for the price.

At the Hyatt Regency, you take their dedicated shuttle which leaves on time every half an hour. It's very reliable and way better than ART. This hotel also has a lot of additional recreational facilities that other nearby hotels don't have like basketball, bocce, etc. Their renovated rooms are nice and modern but on the smaller side (especially the bathrooms). A lot of their suites aren't renovated so they're older.

The Cambria can be a zoo at times and they charge a fee to use the pool unless you book a suite.

Hmmm, I can't find the fee charge for the pool anywhere but I've seen this reported a few times. Is this true even if you book directly through Disneyland website?

I went to the website to look it up for you and it seems like the pool fee has been replaced by a mandatory destination fee of $19 per night. In early 2022, you'd have to pay the pool fee to get a wristband so not sure how it works now. I don't know if Disney prices include the destination and resort fees or if those are collected separately at the hotel.
