Hotel at Castaway Cay

I was told that it is possible to rent a hotel room for the day at Castaway Cay....Is this true? If so, where do you book it, I just thought it would be easier w/a room right at the beach for the day as I have young children. Please let me know, I have never been on a disney cruise b4 and am getting all my great information from this board!!! Thanx alot!!

Whoever told you that is very wrong. Besides, you are five minutes from the family beach to teh ship. WHy spend the $$ on a hotel room?

Someone gave you wrong info....there is no hotel on Castaway Cay....some CM's do live on the island but there is no hotel....did they possibly mean a day room on Nassau, if you were on the 3/4 day cruise???

Are you getting this mixed up wtih Nassau (and renting a day room at the Atlantis Hotel maybe?)...

Did you mean rent a hotel at Nassau? Castaway Cay is Disney's own private island in the Bahamas, they are the only cruise line in the world that has a dock at their private island and don't tender in. It is not commercial in the aspect that there are not hotels. You can walk off the ship to the beach or you can take a tram.

Basically you dock in the morning and the CM's set up the island with chairs and umbrellas. There are a couple Disney run stores, a bar and the covered restaurant area where they set up the BBQ lunch.

There is an area to rent floats and a snorkel shack. There is also of course the adult beach vs. the family beach.

If your family wants to go back to rest on the ship it is a simple matter of walking the paved path or jumping on a tram.
