Hotel and Tickets now on Disney UK site for 2011

I have just had a quote from CO for SSR - way better than the price that I got off their website last night!
Total = £2912 for 2 adults 1 teen and 3 children. Includes DDP. Seems a better price!

Looks like they can get the discounts then but not loaded onto system yet.

I received a similar quote - £2475 for 15 nights Inc DDP and tix at SSR. That's about £120 more than last year, so I'm tempted to book. However, someone on Dibb was told that it won't be properly reserved until April 1st (no res number or deposit taken) so might as well wait and see what Disney UK do.

Hi tink2312 it was me on the dibb and I got mixed up it's April 2nd not the 1st, that also ties in with what I was told by VH when I phoned them to ask when they would be offering the same deal as complete orlando. They said any new offers would be included in their main brochure and when I asked when it was released I was told Easter.

Hope this helps. :goodvibes

I'm waiting too - would love to book OKW or SSR for next year if they .have the same offers.

Hmmm prices look good, my only worry with booking with an outside company is will they fold. I don't have a credit card so can't have the security of booking on one and claiming back. I only have a debit card and would loose the lot. Its worrying.

If you book can you still cancel and book with the Disney UK if offered?...

That's tomorrow! (I know it doesn't look like spring outside .....)

I was told yesterday by VH that the new brochure wouldn't be out until the end of April which is when the preview brochure expires. This was from VH at the UK call center and she said that no-one at the VH call centers will know the details until the day the brochure comes out, this is to prevent details being leaked out before the release day.
IIRC, the last couple of years the brochure has been released around the 21 April which ties in with the expiry date of this years preview brochure.

Seems like they all need to be singing from the same songsheet if you ask me, I spoke to the UK call centre too. :confused3

Last year the main brochure came out around 21st April but then a few months later the free DDP was offered.

Complete Orlando seem to have completely confussed everyone by offering free dining for 2011 holidays with none of the other operators offering it or willing to comment on it. Im now starting to think that complete orlando are desperate for sales and are taking the dining plan cost hit inorder to get the sales. If so that is a very risky move.

Mind i may be reading a bit to much into this :surfweb:

They were ahead of Disney for something this year also, can't remember what for. Maybe someone will post and tell us who used/considered them.

Thanks.....How about with Disney Uk can you change/cancel dates once booked I've checked their F&Q's but can't find anything. I know with Disney US you have 45 days before arrival to make changes without penalties not sure about the UK though..

Thanks

£50 if more than 56 days out but they usually only charge if the value of the holiday is less. I added a day this year from 20 nights to 21 nights, they just charged me £100 for the extra night, no fees.

Period before departure date that letter is received Cancellation Charges as a % of total Booking price
More than 56 days £50 per person
56-29 days 30%
28-15 days 40%
14-1 days 50%
Day of departure or later 100%

Just a point to keep in mind with Disney UK, unlike Disney US you CANNOT amend your reservation to take advantage of a special offer or promotion. So you can't book, then add free dining or xxx% off, etc. They have cleverly put that into their T&Cs. I have a new copy that arrived with an amendment invoice. Strangely, comparing to one from a year or so ago, that clause was worded differently and did not specifically exclude the aforementioned.

However if a great deal subsequently comes out, you can still cancel, forfeit your deposit and rebook if this leaves you better off. ;)

Has anyone heard anything more about if the Disney UK site will show free dining and 40% off at OKW/SSR soon, read a few posts mentioning it would be updated last week but nothing yet and still not sure whether to bite the bullet with Complete Orlando as had a good quote for 7 nights at SSR with free dining for Aug '11

For me, the best price wins. If you can afford to wait it out a little while, then do so. Otherwise I would book if it looks good. :goodvibes

I expect Disney is aiming to get their promotions up and public as soon as possible. They will be well aware of the CO offers and at this stage, they simpy cannot afford to lose any bookings. I would be surprised if the flight scenarios this year have not had an impact on bookings already. I doubt I will book next year's trip without having my flights securely in place first.

Hi, i've been reading through this thread with interest as have never had to book a holiday for school holiday times so it's a whole new ball game! We're hoping to go for our honeymoon so don't want to run any risk of low availability, but it was reassuring to read you can book easily up to the jan before. I'm dreading the flight prices!!! We've always got £330 ish for March/April time. I'm thinking this won't be the case in August, ha.

Going back to lurking!

Thanks Wayne . . . I'm probably being thick but does anyone know the difference between ABTA and ATOL?!!
QUOTE]

ABTA is the 'uk' travel agents bonded agency and ATOL is for the airlines. you won't find any US ABTA as they are not UK registered comapnies or traders. They both have different roles but if you are un-packaging your hols the ATOL is the one you need.
