Used to be the 'teardrop', but now I have heard of several characters being seen regularly outside of Club Cool in Future World and many more near the Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Can anyone confirm this?

If you are getting the "Magic Carpets of Aladdin" from the wdw insiders character spotting site... I think that is because it is the default value... so if you just want to comment I think it tags it as Magic Carpets of Aladdin... I thought the same thing when I first found it and then figured out why half the entries said that LOL.

As far as "new" hot character spots... from what I have heard the most likely locations now are outside of American Adventure in Epcot, outside of the Millennium Village gate in Epcot, and the Good Times Gather Spot in AK (where the Pocahontas show used to be in Camp Minnie-Mickey)... not sure if there are any others and I hadn't heard about the Club Cool location so not sure about that one.

When I was there three weeks ago, at the teardrop all the days we went, we saw Pooh and Tigger.

I thought the teardrop was closed?!? That used to be a gold mine for rare characters!

I don't think they are using the teardrop for the random characters anymore; however, they have relocated the pooh characters there temporarily (from the playful spot)... they will be moving again.

I have read a lot of reports lately that inside the Magic of Disney Animation building at HS around 5 pm lots of random characters come out for meet & greets... can anyone confirm?

We saw Jiminy Cricket and the Queen of Hearts around 9:30am outside of the Club Cool building one day and no characters there the other day we were there.

Jasmin and Aladdin were in a covered structure behind the Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

Just back and saw a lot of characters in the mentioned Camp Minnie Mickey area and the areas to the sides leading up to the Camp area. Very short lines for all these as they were very hard to see through the landscaping we only knew they were there becasue we followed them through the park.

Also in MK to the left of Splash Mountain in just a little alcove we saw characters everyday while we were there. Lines in Epcot for characters were ridiculously long even longer than the Toontown tent.

I collected a ton a character autographs on my past trip and my best finds were at:

EPCOT: all over the World Showcase....even though these characters are announced in the Times Guide, there was little to no wait for any of them if you timed it right. I saw Mulan, Jasmine, Aladdin, Marie, Bellie and the Beast, Mary Poppins, and Alice with less than a 5 minute wait. The only one I had to pass by was Snow White.

Hollywood Studios: Definitely plan to be in the Animation Building around 4:50 on a non-Fantasmic day. Besides the normal characters (the Incredibles, Lotso, and Sorceror Mickey), the random character greetings are awesome. There are two sets of characters, the first appearing at 4:50 and the second appearing at 5:20. It's a great meet and greet because it's not published in the Times Guide so only those "in the know" will be there. Last week I saw, Mary Poppins and Mr Penguin, Capt Hook and Mr Smee, Genie and Jasmine, Pocahontas and Meeko, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy, The Queen, and Pinocchio and Gepetto.

Animal Kingdom: There were no characters out in the Good Times Greeting Spot, but I had luck in Camp Mickey-Minnie by hitting the character lines about 10 minutes after a Festival of the Lion King show started. I saw Chip & Dale, Thumper and Miss Bunny, and Pocahontas with no lines. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy were also there with short lines.

Did not see any characters in the Tear Drop, Millenium Village, or the American Adventure Pavilion.

And I almost forgot.....Jessie and Bolt were alternating in front of Muppets 3D last Thursday....not sure if this was because Muppets was in refurb, or if this will be a new regular location.

Was there a specific time that you hit WS for those characters?

I started in WS around 2:00 and stayed until Illuminations....I was on a solo trip so I had all the time in the world and really just explored a lot of the pavilions. Started in Mexico and went clockwise....seems like China/Germany characters were out until about 5 with Morocco, France, and UK out until about 6:30 or 7. If I saw a character out with a long line, I would just ask the CM what time they would be out next and get in line about 5 minutes before hand. Didn't wait more than 5 minutes for anyone.
