Returned a couple of days ago from a reunion with my husbands family.
There were 13 of us in all.
As I'd heard from everyone else who had recently been to the world, it was HOT!!!
But we took the advice of many others, hitting the parks in the AM and taking a break in the afternoon. It worked well. We used fast pass and were able to see most of what we wanted. The rest of the family weren't familiar with FP, and they are now great fans!!
Highlights:
Soaring. We were able to go on this 2x. We grabbed fastpass first thing, and then immediately got in the standby line.
Shades of Green. Everyone really enjoyed this resort, and appreciated the great deal. We were able to stay there since my husband is retired military.
We had a wonderful meal in England, where my 4 year old niece was chosen to "start" the fireworks! She was given a magic wand, told to make a wish and push the button. Her wand lit up, and the show began!!
A side benefit to this was that we were all able to go to the outside eating area (we had been inside) and get the best view of illuminations we ever had!
Lights, motorcars, action! My husband enjoyed this a lot. It's all he wanted to do at MGM.
Priority seating (or whatever they call it now!) Were it not for this, we would never have gotten into LeCellier- a meal we thorougly enjoyed. There were other places that we ate at without a reservation, and were able to get right in (China, France). But those were times when only our smaller family was eating together, not the whole group of 13.
Lowlights:
Heat and crowds. We definitely were drained after a busy morning in the parks. I won't say that I'll never again go in the summer, because I enjoy Disney so much and would never say I wouldn't go if given the opportunity, but I much prefer the cooler/off seasons.
As usual, the much anticipated trip sped by. Can't wait til the next time.
