Hot Breakfast including resorts, is it still a hot breakfast, now?

Trying to find out what the offsite resorts are offering that are near Disney World. I get the idea that breakfast has been modified to mostly cold items, now. Am I wrong?

Is it all pre-packaged, now?

Are there any resorts using a server/waiter to give out a hot breakfast?

Whenever Drury Inn opens in Disney Springs, they always have a full hot breakfast, a hot "dinner" (things like chicken tenders or hotdogs), popcorn, and at night each adult over 21 gets 2 drink tickets each for adult beverages. They also have a location about a mile away from Universal.

Thank you. I'm looking for a current status. Many resorts who use to include a hot breakfast are not doing so right now due to the virus.

There is no Drury Inn at Disney Springs yet, but they have purchased the Best Western and are renovating it.

I'd check directly with each hotel, although I know that's a pain. Policies are adapting during this time . this is not Orlando-related, but we just came back from Panama City beach, and just week before last, the hotel was reportedly only doing cold/to-go bags, but by last week, they'd added some hot items, like the omelets, sausage, etc. Not nearly as many, and you waited in line for someone to fill up a to-go box for you. It was not serve yourself. So offerings changed during those couple weeks, but we checked with hotel directly .FWIW, only hubby picked up from breakfast and brought back to the room. We didn't want to eat in the common area.

I travel for work, every hotel I have stayed in has not had there brakefast due to covid.
One had a bowl of fruit and some prepackaged Danishs. Hotels are loosing so much money with people not traveling, i expect it to be the last amenity to come back.

I just got back from a Hilton (Sandestin) that had a buffet. It was a bit more limited than the usual one they serve and the staff had to serve us, but it was fine. They also moved it to a conference ballroom to space out the tables. The tables were at least 10 feet apart and possibly even more.

Granted I probably have Covid now thanks to guest behavior in other areas, but that's not the hotel's fault.

If the staff served me I would tell them that wasn't the piece of meat I wanted or that wasn't the roll I wanted etc

On our road trip our Hilton hotel in Sioux Falls South Dakota had a limited breakfast buffet. Was so nice to get a hot omelet. Also had service yourselves today/bagels/English muffins and toaster. The hotel we stayed at in Hill City South Dakota had a hot breakfast sandwich in your “grab n go” bag but it took forever to get one, we stayed in a suite hotel that had full kitchen so we ate breakfast there. Only found out about the hot sandwich in checkout day when it took 30 minutes to get a receipt...

I am NOT understanding this business of not having hot items at all. Keep hand sanitizer around (our one hot hot Buffett had both sanitizer and disposable gloves for using the utensils). People have let fear over rule what we actually know about the virus and using common sense. Proper food handling won’t increase risk of the virus.

The problem is that common sense isn't all that common, and when someone else fails to use common sense, YOU are the one who probably suffers for it. Proper food handling does not increase the risk of the virus, WHEN it is properly handled (how often do you think that happens IRL). Sharing utensils and equipment like toasters without sanitizing between uses is a great way to spread the virus; high touch surfaces abound at the classic buffet. We drove home at the beginning of the outbreak and avoided the breakfast at our hotels; it was chilling to see how dangerous they were when you stopped and watched peoples' behavior for just a few minutes.

But this is true covid or not. And surface transmission (what there is of it) is still easily taken care of with hand sanitation if you plan to eat with your hands.
Again-common sense. The media has hyped the fear that the virus is literally lying in wait for (and presenting it as a VIABLE virus not fragments detected after hours) that the things going on is ridiculous and amounts to safety theater. And here in US the county health department regularly inspects hotels including the buffet kitchens. I work with kitchens and am well aware of health/food safety codes and proper handling.
High heat (like in a toaster) will inactivate most viruses and bacteria. I refuse to go around acting like every surface is going to kill me when I know I can mitigate MY risk by washing hands., with a few exceptions: keeping silverware out in bulk often with the eating end up and potentially touched by hundreds of hands, or communal bread in a bag everyone reaches into? Blech-but that bothered me covid virus or not and those I DO say something about.

The super HYPER awareness of this virus has both pros and cons, but in so many cases it is leading to nonsensical decisions as a way of showing "care" and "safety" while in actuality doing nothing at all

Personally, me and my family are buffet fans. Especially in Florida we really enjoy the Golden Corral on International Drive. Its the one right next to the Chocolate Museum. The problem with transmission of "ANY" virus is thru cross-contamination. As @bankr63 said, sometimes if you sit and observe you will be surprised how some people are VERY unaware of their poor hygiene habits. I once witnessed a lady at a buffet, stop and tie the shoe of her small child. The shoelaces were soaked with God only knows what. It was obvious the kid had been walking on the wet shoelace for awhile. I was so glad I was on my way out. She tied his shoe, picked something out of his hair, and proceeded using the buffet utensils to fill her plate. Not a mere thought crossed her mind to wash/sanitize her hands before picking up the serving utensil. Years ago, I learned about transmission in a microbiology course. Our professor sprayed a substance on his hand at the start of class. He shook the hands of 4 or 5 of us on our way into class. At the end of class he turned out the lights and carried a black light around the room. We all had a glow in the dark substance on us somewhere. I will NEVER forget a girl who used to run her fingers thru her hair constantly during lecture time. Needless to say, she was covered in fingerprints and strokes all thru her hair. It was on our desks, some people near their mouths. It was HORRIBLE. But even though he only shook hands with a few of us, most of us still got contaminated. That's how it works with all viruses. The COVID virus is 'deadly' as the flu was before vaccines and treatments were found. To ignore COVID dangers and effects is completely irresponsible in my opinion. Wait...I am getting off topic. But the main point is, I know buffets can be breeding grounds for viruses. Its a risk we take. I agree that buffets are open invitations to increase cross-contamination. I am going to miss my buffets, but its best for the health of the public if they are not operating if they can't do it safely. I was hoping they would try to do the old-fashioned cafeteria styles where the staff served your portions. Therefore it would decrease cross-contamination and allow the restaurants to operate. Too bad it may not be headed in that direction. They may eliminate buffets completely which is sad.

There is a well known casino in Vegas who came up with an idea for their buffet to continue. You get a complete list at your table of the food items available for your selection from the buffet. Then, you pick and mark the buffet list with your choices. Next, the server will take your food list and then your items are plated for you. The plate is brought back to your table for you to enjoy. You never leave the table. You can do this as many times as you want.
