hi has anybody been on the hot air balloon yet? if so (1)what are the sites like?(2)how many can get in at once?(3)what is the cost per person? thanks

This was one of the highlights of our summer trip. There is a good website here with lots of information :)

I always fancy that balloon ride but I have a slight disability - how to put this delicately....I couldn't swing my leg over the edge of the basket. Is it easy access for those of us with wobbly limbs?

Nik that is a good question. Not sure about disabled access.
You don't have to climb in as the gate opens fully at therefore you just walk through.
The doughnut that you can walk around is quite narrow so I suspect; but hopefully someone with direct experience can confirm, that on H&S grounds wheelchairs as are buggies are not allowed.

Liav and I did the hot air balloon last week and really enjoyed it! It was a cool bird's eye view of the parks, the village, and the hotels. (Well, I think we were even higher than the birds, actually!). BUT, and this is such a sore point with me at the moment... I accidentally deleted the video we took from the camera!!! OMG!!!!
There is no need to put your leg over anything, since as Reid said, you just walk in. I think capacity is 20 people or more.

Oh no Jody. I'd be kicking myself as well. Suppose you'll just have to go back now ;)

Come on Cyrano, I really don´t no if this kind of punishment is going conform to the Geneva Convention. :rotfl2:

Actually as soon as I realized my mistake I wanted to go directly back to the balloon and go up again, but the skies opened up and it started pouring!!! It was our last day... I had to admit that the only thing left for me to do was endure the punishment Reid has suggested.... I will have to go back.... sigh....

That's helpful.

I'm not a wheelchair user as yet but I know I wouldn't be able to climb over a high basket such as normally seems to go with hot air balloons. I don't know whether or not it will be flying when I go in November 06 but let's hope!

It was flying this past November when we were there.

Whoohoo. That's good news. I'll have to make a point of looking out for it. Trouble is, I hate leaving the parks during the day in case I miss something. Still, would be worth it to go on the balloon. I've never been on one

Pop out to the village and do the balloon ride before lunch then you haven't "wasted" to much time ;)
