Anyone remember these pies? They were sort of square shaped with the frosting on them? The lemon gushed out wherever you bit into the pie. I loved these when I was a kid.

YUM. I could go for one right now. I'm on LC, so I really can't have one, but if I could find one, i'd probably eat it.

They still make them and I LOVE them. The gas station down the street sells them. Every once in awhile I will go and get one. Mmmmmmmm

MMMMM..Lemon pies...
Gotta be honest though...Like the chocolate ones better..:hyper:

Okay..... I gotta ask what "LC" is..... I assume it is a weight loss/weight control program, but I cannot figure out which one! WW would be Weight Watchers, AT would be Atkins, SB would be South Beach, JC would be Jenny Craig, ........WAIT A MINUTE!..... STOP THE PRESSES.... I think I just figured it out!! Low Carb!!
Am I right?...................P

My mom made lemon bars that were a lot like that only a LOT better! YUM!

Now chocolate ones I haven't seen in YEARS! They made chocolate and vanilla pudding pies. They rocked! Back then I would buy scratch off lotto tickets and buy pudding pies with my winnings. That was back in the day when nobody cared if you were 18 to buy a lotto ticket. LOL

They also make peach which you can still find. That is my 2nd favorite.

Yes, it's just general "Low Carb". I used to do Atkins, but that was very strict. Now I just try not to eat pasta, white bread and sugar.....and keep my carbs under 40-50 a day.

It seems to work, i've gone from an almost 12 to a 6 in about two years, but I exercise a lot in addition.

I used to eat a Hostess Lemon Pie everyday in high school for lunch. I haven't had one in years - but I should go get one.;)

I love Hostess Lemon Pies (right up there with snowballs!)!! Not to be a party pooper, but don't those things have like 50 grams of saturated fat in ONE pie??? :earseek:

That probably explains why I haven't had one since I was 12 and had the energy to burn it off. That's a LOT of fat. Wow!

I love the lemon pies! I haven't had one in ages, but now I'm craving it. :D

Yep - I remember them and loved them! Haven't had one since I was a kid. Do they still taste the same? It seems when I try something again that I loved as a kid, it doesn't taste right. I don't know if they make them with cheaper ingredients now, or if my tastes changed (thinking of Scooter Pies in particular :teeth: ) I loved McDonald's cherry pies when they had actual whole cherries in them. I tried one a couple of months ago and it was just smooth filling - no whole cherries, even no pieces of cherries :sad2: . What is this world coming to?

I prefer Tastykakes pies. I always liked their peach pies.

I bought the kids some Lemon pies last week at the hostess (wonder) bread shop. I think they were only .45 at the bread shop.

At the 7-11's in Orlando, they still have the lemon, cherry, apple, and peach Hostess Fruit Pies. I'll occasionally buy the cherry ones, 'cause I LOVE those.

Does anyone remember those hokey Hostess ads in comic books when they were younger? Richie Rich, Wendy Witch, Spider-Man, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Archie and the gang....they had a one page "comic ad" where something bad was going to happen, then someone would share a Hostess Fruit Pie, and the World Would Be A Perfect Place Again.

I found one of those the other day when I was working. I about died laughing!

Hostess does not sell the chocolate pies in my area nay longer. but Dolly Madison does. MMMMmmmmmm. I was never into the lemon ones, but I like peach and strawberry. They are like 550 calories each.

I absolutely loved the chocolate pies. They were my favorite. I would walk to the local convenience store and buy them with my change. Life was so good then. Now I am watching what I eat and cannot have one.

Everything tasted so much better back then. I think it was all the lard. :)
