Host Pin Trade Line moving VERY SLOWLY!

You must have been right behind me - I was stuck at 1 for 7 minutes - finally moved up to next in queue and then I did dc after 2 minutes there!

She still seems to be wearing those pins. I think the Inner Space pin is the Molecules pin. I dc before I could get my bearings.

If one of you goes through and snags a Grand Californian pin for me, I will give you a complete blue Tron outfit.

After trying all night to get in the line, finally managed it. Moved quickly; in the room within 25 minutes. I was so excited-- finally, I could get the one pin I wanted more than any other next to the Stitch pin (Grand Californian)! I was next in line to trade, and I got disconnected. Of course.

I've had a bad enough day with Ernesto, family issues, and being sick all at the same time without having VMK's lousy servers adding to my grief. I think I quit for the evening; I've had enough.

I get trade request. I present my pin. I say, "Hi" and ask for pin of my choice.

Fin puts pin in window.

I hit accept.

I dc. And that scream you all heard was me.

btw - I dc once in four hours prior to host event. I just don't get it. Stuff like this adds to the "not fun" of VMK. Why have a cool pin trading staff event if we can't even get through the trade?

Update: It is an hour later - I got back in a 3rd time and successfully completed a pin trade with Fin. Yay! Thank you Fin. (I still hold true to the "Why?" comments above though.)

I spent 2 and a half hours trying to get in the room to trade pins, DCing and DCing over and over. I finally got into the room, through the line, get into trade with fin and guess what ---------- I DCed. I'm so use to it now, I expected nothing better from VMK.

Don't you find that rather sad. That we expect to lose.
We expect the worst from VMK?
Don’t you find it rather sad that VMK has that "reputation" for DCing and we can expect no improvements from them?

Shouldn't we expect just the opposite from something we love?
Shouldn't we expect something better from world famous Disney Corp.?
Shouldn't we expect growth and enlightenment from a game aimed at children?
Shouldn't we expect VMK to improve and learn something from every action, event, game and theme month?
Shouldn't signing into VMK make us feel "joy" not "dread"?

The only way I am ever going to make it in one of these rooms is if I get close to the front of the line when it opens. I dc very regularly, about half an hour is the max I can stay on at a time. Without exception. Last night when the room opened, I was thirty something in line at the open, and I disconnected by the time I got to 10th.

I had a feeling it would be this way, thinking of how long it would take to do all of these individual trades with players. Lately I haven't even bothered with any of the host games that have slow moving lines due to the setup of the games; after I try them once and see how the line moves, I know if I will be able to make it or not. Luckily so far there has been at least one host game (usually Hula's) each month I know I can make it through. I have just been making sure I do all of those, and skipping the others completely. I just found myself getting so frustrated spending two or three hours getting in line, and waiting, and disconnecting, that I decided not to put myself through it anymore. I think if I went through that two or three days a week, I would get burned out on vmk pretty quickly.

These are a really special opportunity, I would have loved to have some of the pins listed here. I am going to try to get into all of these, but I do not feel very confident that I am going to make it! Good luck to everyone this weekend, I know a lot of you are in the same boat. Luckily I was able to trade for some hm pins last night from this board, so that made my evening happy. At least we have DIS! This board makes the game so much more enjoyable to me, just seeing everyone's thoughts and advice, sharing our problems. I can't imagine playing vmk without it.

You could have saved yourself time and sent a note to contact us button explain that the trade was complete but Phin dc before saying I accept. they would have made the switch or just given you the pin w/out taking your pin. I've had to contact after host games twice. If we are that far to have won, why shouldn't we win? They can trace back the tapes to verify that it happened. FYI

Well, I have tried for 2 days to get into the pin trading, and the only one time I make it into the room I DC.

Why can't they open more rooms at the same time. We know they are able to do it if they want.

I have renamed the event "wait in line to see a host before you DC" Played twice tonight, both times I win a dc as I begin the trade. lol I had restarted vmk both times and got in in like 6-8 trys so like 2-3 minutes but just to short on the dc tonight. No big deal Just something to do, and it's allways fun to see staff, and iteresting to see the interaction. I must say I am glad they brought the event back but I must find the back door into the event quicker. lol

there were ppl at closing time today still waiting in line to get in from 8am and all day it was to long

Saturday had to be by far the worst day for dc I have ever experienced. I got into the rooms a total of 9 times and managed only one trade. I wanted to get a Grand Californian pin. I have been trying to trade for one of those since April. I dc'd one time in line before the room. Twice in line inside the room, 3 times next in line for the trade seat and twice I dc'd while in the trade with the host. Two of the times I dc'd in the room waiting bc the host dc'd and didnt make it back in time before vmk punched my ticket for the dc express. The one time I did manage to get a traded completed Host_Lily was in the seat trading and Host _Hula was standing behind her also trading to try an relieve the wait while in the room. They did not have the Grand Cali pin when I was trading and I got another zebra pin and the new Eyeball pin. This story does actually have a happy ending though. My brother Skippypaul and his girl both got in line to try and get the Grand Cali pin for me. He made it in the room completed the trade with Phinny and THEN dc'd before leaving the room. He gave me the pin for all the times I did host games to get him pins while he was at work. He is the best brother ...thank you Rob.
