Can anyone tell me what time or times the horseback trail rides and archery are offered? Trying to work this into our trip. Thanks!

not sure about the horseback trail ride I think 8:30 10:30 and 12:30 , but the Archery is at 2:45 Tuesday thru Friday. It is very popular so you will need to make advance reservations thru 407-wdw-play.

. . . Horseback Riding: 8:30AM, 10:00AM, 11:30AM, 1:00PM, 2:30PM ($46.00, no tax, 9+ yrs old, 1-day cancellation policy)
. . . Archery: 2:45PM-4:15PM ($41.34, incl tax, 7+yrs old, 2-day cancellation policy)

Has anyone done the trail ride? What's it like?

I'm usually disappointed in these types of trail rides as I have three hay burners lounging around in my front yard that I can hop on any time.

I was thinking about doing the trail ride just so I don't go into horsey withdrawals. Do they make you wear a helmet... if you're a grown up?

1) Lame.
2) And, I do not mean the horses.
3) For a true novice or kiddie, it is OK.
4) For anyone else it is very boring.
5) The horses do not only lose the race to the hares, but to the snails.

Kinda like pack mules huh?
Good thing my kids are young.

The worst for us was that they just randomly lined us up and off we went….My DD, who was about 12, was 5 people up from me. This really disappointed me, we could not even see each other. And the trail was flooded out (it was on an August morning, and no extra-ordinary storm had gone thru). So we had to stay to the extreme edge of the trail, almost off of it, and get smacked in the head with trees and branches. You see absolutely nothing. We were in the novice range, and it was not great.

But yet I actually train horses for a living here in MN , and my daughter , who is 9, is following in my footsteps- horses are a daily part of our lives. We did the ride last Christmas. In the rain. Slow horses. Not exciting. But you know what? It was one of our favorite moments- just riding Disney horses.... Relaxing.... No Mosquitos.... Talking to the tour Guide..... Stress free.... Pure Disney magic- you just might love it!!

Yes on the helmet. Also, they will not let you bring along and use a camera, even if you are an experienced rider. The pace is slow - just walking.

That said, it was a pretty trail through the woods and my daughter and I saw deer, including a baby, and wild turkeys on our ride, which we enjoyed.

I don't know that I'd do it again, but I'm glad I did it once.

Has anyone done archery? I am thinking about doing this on our November trip.

DisneyObsessed87,

I haven't done it but I saw it (shot plenty of arrows in Boy Scouts) and there were kids of all ages there. So if you or someone in your group is interested, do it.

Archery is very popular so make advance reservations for it, you probably won't be able to attend if you try and walk up. Also it was stated in an earlier post that Archery is 2 times a day at 2:45 and 4:15 but it is only offered once a day at 2:45 and you would need to arrive at the Bike Barn to sign in about 30 minutes in advance.
