Horse rides at FW

Hi! I have this posted over on the Familes thread but since I haven't gotten any responses over there, I figured that I would try here. Does anyone know if they enforce the minimum age for the horse rides? My niece will have just turned 8 when she goes in October and she really wants to do the horse ride or the pony ride. Unfortunately, she is too big for the pony rides (they have a 80 lb limit) and a year too young for the horse rides.

I don't know for sure but ny guess would be yes. For safety and liability reasons my guess is they are very firm about ages, that said the trail ride is not very exiting for an experienced rider, they only allow the horses to walk, no galloping just a nice easy walk,and the horses stay in a nice neat line(they could to the trail ride with no rider and their eyes closed would be my guess).

They enforce the age so to speak, they don't check any ID at least they did't on our boy when he was nine and he was a little nine about 55 lbs. He is now about 180. I think size would help a little and they asked if he was a first time rider and they picked out a gentle horse. Would'nt know a raccoon spooked his horse but he followed their instructions and kept control of the horse, they said they were supprised how well he did. My wife rode with as she was a very expirenced rider. If your little girl is closer to nine I don't think there should be a problem.

Thank you both. You re-enforced my guess. But I figured that it couldn't hurt to ask. My niece will just have turned 8 but she is the same size as yer 9 year old brother. I will send you comments along to my sister so that she can figure out whether she wants to try it or not. Thanks again!!
