This just turns my stomache. It's really hard to handle and if you don't want to hear anyone talk about painful and disgusting war stories please do not read any further.
Last night in Mosul, Iraq (day for them, Mosul is 9 hours ahead of CST) two soldiers from the 101st who were stopped in traffic were shot by unknown assailants. Then the assailants slit the throats of the wounded soldiers and apparently locals stepped in to help by looting their bodies of personal items. This just makes me sick! This reminds me of how I felt when they dragged the dead bodies of our soldiers threw the streets in Mogadishu in 1993. Now I am ready for the United States to go to lengths in this war that I wasn't ready for before this morning.
PS. We haven't heard from Titus today yet but we aren't worried that he was involved in this because of his job/situation. He doesn't travel the streets of Mosul on a regular basis, actually due to safety precautions in place only occasionally does he go into the city at all. I just wanted to reassure those of you that keep up with Titus and his doings/whereabouts.
