This just turns my stomache. It's really hard to handle and if you don't want to hear anyone talk about painful and disgusting war stories please do not read any further.

Last night in Mosul, Iraq (day for them, Mosul is 9 hours ahead of CST) two soldiers from the 101st who were stopped in traffic were shot by unknown assailants. Then the assailants slit the throats of the wounded soldiers and apparently locals stepped in to help by looting their bodies of personal items. This just makes me sick! This reminds me of how I felt when they dragged the dead bodies of our soldiers threw the streets in Mogadishu in 1993. Now I am ready for the United States to go to lengths in this war that I wasn't ready for before this morning.

PS. We haven't heard from Titus today yet but we aren't worried that he was involved in this because of his job/situation. He doesn't travel the streets of Mosul on a regular basis, actually due to safety precautions in place only occasionally does he go into the city at all. I just wanted to reassure those of you that keep up with Titus and his doings/whereabouts.

 :(
And a humongous thank you to Titus, next time you hear from him.

Oh my gosh, I had not heard this yet.

Please tell Titus to stay safe.

My heart and prayers go out to the soldiers families.

:( <------ we need one with tears.

Stay safe Titus, we are waiting for you to come home.

my prayers are always with them.
I have been reading the last couple days about the psychological aspects many soldiers are having and not coping well with. Some are having difficulties, they are looking into some suicides of soldiers and trying to get help for soldiers there. I feel for all of them as many(lots of reservists) have seen their 1 year deployment increased to 18 months. I read just yesterday that we plan to have 100,000 there until 2006. :(
Please keep us posted on Titus. I wish we still had our special board for this here, as it was taken away when SO much is still left to be done. DH is in a somewhat "safe" reserve position now which comforts me somewhat, but one never knows.

My best and prayers are with all the service people in harm's way, there and elsewhere. And yes, triple B, I miss the board too. Lady M enjoyed visiting there, adding support when she could and often asks me if it is back.

Hope all can return safely when the job is done.

Keli,
I live in Nashville and my heart just breaks everytime I hear something about the 101st. I keep seeing the family members on TV and I just cannot imagine the stress. My Dad was a Air National Guard Reserve and I know a deployment like this would have been tough on us.

Know that all of you are in our prayers here!

Heartbreaking :( War truly is hell :(
