Horrified by resale agent treatment

I'm the seller and both have sold. He wasn't my agent at the company. He just inserted himself in appropriately, in my opinion, with his advice because he had a potential low bid buyer.
Yeah in general I would say beware, as a seller, of any contact you receive from an agent other than your agent at DVCRM

They know what they are doing, IMO. They want to move contracts as fast as possible. So if they can have buyers go through an agent other than your agent, then that agent can contact you directly… they can bypass your actual agent while still giving you as the seller the impression that you are doing business with the people who represent you.

It’s slimy. But it’s what they do.

There is literally no defensible reason for anyone other than your agent to be bringing offers to you.

When I listed with them I had multiple agents come to me with offers. I consider myself pretty market savvy and had no issue responding.

THIS!

I had no issue responding, either.

I am concerned for how someone else in my position might have handled it, though. Especially if they made the mistake of assuming DVCRM was representing them.
I agree with the sentiment but not the process and language used by the other agent. It felt disingenuous, sleazy, and somewhat 'threatening' as in, take this price or we won't try to sell your contract. He was in effect saying the other agent, his colleague, was wrong to suggest the higher price when it was the lowest of all similar contracts. They are sold. I am pleased with the price. I know one buyer is purchasing with intent on surprising his wife for Mothers Day - I hope ROFR gets through for them in time. I will do whatever on my side to get it executed ASAP.

Fidelity should market the lowest prices around town
That would encourage buyers to shop there but for sellers to go elsewhere, so I don't think they will be advertising like that.

Just like I saw World of DVC mention their rental rates are the cheapest out there. As an owner, that made me think using the DVC Rental Store to list out a reservation may not be the best idea since the owner would want to get top dollar not the cheapest amount of return.

That's very true! Dvc rental store is such a pain I much prefer davids although they've come thru for me twice so I'll shut up now lol

By any chance, did you sell one contract for 170 pts and one for 70 pts, both 2057 expirations? I bought the bigger one, and had no problem, but I don't recognize any of the broker details.

I guess the one thing I will say is since this is a real estate contract when I make an offer as a buyer I do expect the agency to have a separate agent who represents my interests in negotiation. I’d expect the seller has a different agent who is working in their best interest as well. That said it does sound like the agent who inserted for buyer in this case was unprofessional and agressive. I do think the notion of him trying to get best price for buyer is correct; he just went about it in inappropriate way (e.g. never should contact seller on strategy directly).

I believe all dvc resale brokers are transactional brokers who then wouldn't represent either party in an advisory role. They are there to get the job done.

No, both of mine were 2057 but 105 and 102 points.

I've bought and sold with several resale companies and they all do this. I always have agents who aren't my listing agent reach out- most are fine (there have been a few screwballs), it is standard procedure. Also, all resale brokers are transction agents, they facilitate the sale and do not specifically represent the buyer or the seller- so nothing slimy about it.
