yes unfortunately the second article said the cable wrapped around her legs and ripped both feet off above the ankles. There no words. Prayers for that little girl.

we got stuck at the top of this ride a few years for about five minutes when a safety switch got triggered, that was bad enough.

a cable snapping on a drop attraction is inexcusable. Six Flags parks are already in huge financial trouble, I'm already wondering if this wasn't a byproduct of maintenance cutbacks.

The local news just reported that she is in surgery, where they are attempting to re-attach her feet.

My grandson and his friend wanted me to take them to Ky Kingdom today and I told them "no". I am so thankful for being the mean grandma today.

My prayers also go out to this young lady, her family and the surgeons performing this surgery.

My DH who is an engineer immediately said he bet it was a cable , he then said that was a maintenance issue and inexcusable!

As far as re-attaching I wouldn't be too hopeful. It sounds like a crushing, tearing type injury,the hardest for reattachment because of all the blood vessel crushing and injury and knowing that ride the feet may have fallen a long way and again been crushed and damaged. Thank God it was her feet further up the legs would have been harder to rehab and also more easily fatal. Or Heaven forbid if it had wrapped around her neck. Lets hope it happened quickly, poor baby.

It's just such a terrible injury. I feel so badly for her. At least she was near the best hospital in the area for such an injury. Hopefully reattachment will be possible.

I'm sure that an investigation will be done and it will be determined whether this was a freak malfunction or somehow due to lack of maintenance. I won't rush to judgment just yet.

I also have chills...I was just talking to my niece a little while ago about a new ride they have at Waldameer Park in Erie, PA...we were saying how excited we are to ride it and then I see this terrible thread and it is the same ride.
