Horrible Disney news.....

Yes, and I believe I said that. :thumbsup2
You did, I was just reinterating for others who may have problems with that point. :thumbsup2

I don't mean to make light of the situation - I truly feel for the young woman if the crime did occur, but this statement is SO funny...

Where are my scissors? :hyper: :hyper:

Would this make it the Zippitti Do Da Snip of the day?

All the reports say "it is being inestigated, no arrests have been made." I think there may be more to this story than we know or is being reported. Especially since they allowed her to call a friend. I think that if there wasn't a lot of "grey area" to this case they surely would have been arrested and charged immediately. Reportedly, all the men are cooperating with the police investigation...which again indicates to me that there is more going on here. I won't jump to any conclusions until they are actually charged with a crime.

It just seems that if there was physical evidence they would at least have been arrested.
Well, lets see, I have some knowledge on this one and it took almost 2 months for an arrest to be made :(

Sorry, I did not mean to make light of this situation.

Oh, I didn't think you did! I feel exactly the same way. I just couldn't resist my "snip" comment.

Some may flame me for this but I hope that they experience the same fate in prison as this poor woman did in that motel. I also hope that the prison guards don't hear their cry for help either. 4 men????? Let them see how it is to be the victim for once and how horrible a crime like rape really is. Sorry if I offend some people here, but what they did to that poor woman is almost worse than murder. Unlike a dead person, she's going to have to deal with horrible crime forever. When you're dead at least your at peace. I hope she gets professional help to overcome this.

I have to admit that I feel the same way. we can be 'flamed' together on this one. :thumbsup2

Perhaps one should consider waiting until charges have been laid, a trial held and guilt determined prior to condemning anyone?

There seem to be quite a few judges, juries and jailers out here.

I agree.

I admit being irked that Disney is being dragged into this. If it were any other company, do you think the alleged culprit's (or victim's) employer would be in the headline?
Probably not. But then again McDonalds doesn't call itself the most magical place or the happiest place, etc. Anytime you say things like that, then that just opens you up to being torn down by others who for whatever reason want to knock you down a peg or two. Unfortunately.

This is just awful. That poor woman. Every time she hears about DisneyWorld ever again, she's going to remember what happened to her at the "happiest place on earth".

I have always felt very safe at Disney and that has changed for me. I'll probably get flamed for this, but I know on my upcoming trip, I'm going to be looking at the men working at the World Showcase and wondering which one of them could have raped a co-worker.

I'm with the "wait and see" crowd....this country still has a judicial
system that allows innocence until proven guilty.

While this sounds like a horrific story, and IF true, then the men should
be punished to the full extent of the law.......but.....I remember a few
weeks back a story from Florida about a high school girl who accused
a teacher's aide of sexual misconduct, in which case that guy was absolutely
ripped by people on this board.....and it turns out she made it all up :confused3

I'll let the police do their thing, and reserve judgement until then.

Wasn't this on Disney property? I think that they normally name an establishment if a crime takes place on their property.

All this really shows at this point is that WDW is just part of the real world with real people working there. It's a shock, I know.

I agree with you and the rest who are in the wait and see crowd. Lets make sure this woman was indeed a victim here before we go an ruin someones life for nothing!

a close friend of mine was recently raped and surprisingly( at least to me) the police told her only 2% of all rapes go to the arrest and trial stage partly because many do like she did and got a bath before she went to the hospital and therefore it's a he said she said thing.( this was bad as the guy knew her husband was out of town and said some really gruesome things( violent) plus i have known the girl forever and there is no doubt it was a rape) but it will only go "on record " in case someone reports him again. so he's roaming around and nothing she can do about it but hope she can get her life back... very sick. so to say unless arrests are made no crime was committed is wrong. even today some of those who deal with rape( prosecutors etc) have such a misconception it's ridiculous...one counselor said she must have "wanted it" since she was "passive" when she was discussing it. and people wonder why it isn't prosecuted more when the "authorities " take that attitude? that is almost as traumatic to her as the actual act, not being believed. so i guess it struck a nerve with the "maybe she made it up" about the Disney case. sorry to rant

so if that holds true in other parts of the country, chances are these guys won't go to prison but i hope at least they get fired and maybe deported.

this makes me so sad to read. Right now one of my empolyees is down there in the college program!!

Very well said.

Include me in on the wait and see crowd, I would definitely need to know more facts before determining guilt or innocence.
