Has anyone else experienced this. I had a hysterectomy two years ago and since then I have had the worst time keeping my weight in the 130s. It has blossomed 10 plus pounds, some of it from eating badly but most of it I think from the pills (premarin). If this has happened to you what did you do?

ugh!

Yes, it is a constant battle. I had a hysterectomy 12 years ago (at age 41) and have been on premarin ever since. I know some of it is just the aging process (slower metabolism), some of it is my fault (bad eating habits) and some of it is the premarin. It's a fact of life, I think. When I asked my doctor about it years ago, he said the premarin doesn't actually cause you to gain the weight, but it increases your appetite. Either way, it's a struggle.

Good luck!

I told my husband its like I am never quite happy and always looking for one more bite. Now of course some/most of that is bad habits, but I had a sneaking suspision that the premarin was helping a bit too. Like I read somewhere that the extra estogen makes you gain it in your thighs and butt.....like I needed to have any extra there.....:(

Oh well, I am taking a smaller dose now so maybe that will help me out. Fingers crossed.

Could be getting older too...ugh.....

UGH.....I've lost my metabolism and can't get it back.
