We are going on May 4th-10th and have already purchased our MYW tickets. However, with MGM and EP closing early on the 4th and 5th, and the expected crowds, should we switch to a hopper. We have a 4 and 5 year old and just planned on one park a day and when we were done for the day we could just relax. But now I am second guessing the MYW tickets and feel like we need a hopper. HELP! I'm in my "we are leaving in 2 weeks so I'm going to second guess everything" mode!

you can upgrade your tickets within the first 14 days that you use them, and they just charge you the difference in price. So if you're not sure if you're going to hop, just leave the tickets the way that they are, and if you change your mind once you get to the parks, you can upgrade them later on. That way you're not paying for the hopper portion unless you're really going to use it.

Yes, spend more money.

Sincerely,
Walt

I guess it depends on how long you think your kids will last. Maybe those nights might be a good chance to hit DTD.

We would never go without a hopper--you are at the mercy of the crowds at the one park that you pick for any given day. The very best way to relax and enjoy everything is to take advantage of EMH. In the morning, go early, then get out of that park by noon. Let the kids rest, and move to a non EMH park later in the day. For evening EMH hours, stay away from that park until late afternoon.

There really is a herd mentality at WDW. The hopper is worth it's weight in gold.

Thanks for the quick replies! I think we will just wait and then decide when we get there since you can just add it on there. But I really have been second guessing everything. UGH...

Don't tell Walt, but I would pay whatever it costs for a hopper.

The ability to go to the EMH early park in the morning and then leave at about 11:00 when it gets crowded is, as was said, worth it's weight in gold.

Think about what your whole trip will cost. The extra money to literally do TWICE as much (or possibly more) in a day by avoiding crowds is more than worth the extra cost.

It's only a fraction of the cost of the trip and WELL worth it.
