We are driving to FL., my mother is flying in.
I have flown into MCO probably a dozen times and rented cars.
I have no idea where at the airport we will be permitted to pick up my mom...
Anyone with good knowlege of MCO able to tell me where we can/should do that?
TIA!

A couple of options come to mind.

There's a free parking lot called the Cell Phone Lot that's intended for use by folks like you who are waiting to pick up arriving passengers. The concept is that the passenger will call the driver and you'll drive around to the appropriate A or B arrival area, quickly load luggage and drive away. Of course with this option you can't meet the passenger when they arrive inside the main terminal or help them with their luggage, you just meet them at curbside when they're out there. This works great, IMO, when you're picking up someone who is familiar with the airport or does a lot of flying and will not be flustered by large crowds at an airport or has only carry-on luggage and can make their way to the curbside baggage claim level to be picked up.

The other option is to park in the parking garage (above where you have probably picked up your rental cars in the past) and then go down to the terminal building to meet your passenger after they arrive. The first 20 minutes of parking are free, the second 20 minutes costs $2 and then each additional 20 minutes are $1. Even though this method will cost a few dollars I prefer doing this because I can help people I'm picking up navigate through the airport.

Thank you for your help!
I think my mom will fall comfortably in the first category. She will have just a carry-on.
Is the Cell Phone Lot well marked?

I have to laugh, though. I never even thought about the second option! Despite doing that before to drop her off!!

The cell phone lot is well marked. It is less than a mile south of the airport. Just follow the signs.

3rd! She could take the FREE Disney Magical Bus to your resort where you can meet each other!!:wizard:

That's right.

If you're coming to the airport from the Disney area, take SR 417 to exit 17 (Airport/Boggy Creek Road) and turn left at the end of the exit ramp north toward the airport. Follow the signs toward the airport. Signage for the cell lot (I think that it is on the left) is prominent.
If you plan to take 417 back toward Disney, just take the South exit from the airport terminal.

ooo - thanks again! I appreciate the directions and the time it saves us!!!

tink - we are offsite - good plan, but boy, would she be lost!!! ;)

This is what we always do.

As soon as the plane lands we have them call us. We drive to arrival and our friends or family are waiting right outside.

For us there is no parking just drive by and pick up. Saves a lot of time.
