Well, it's finally over.

It was supposed to be taken care of at noon today but her boss ran late and didn't get there until about 4pm. Nothing like letting DW stress a few extra hours, huh?

Anyway, the boss came with a typed out final termination paper outlining all of his violations for the past 2 months and the summary that his employment was immediately terminated. She read it to him and he was NOT too happy.

He spent the final 15 minutes clearing out his belongings trashing my wife. He said that she would need all the luck she could get because she can't do the job. He accused her of stealing. He said she was a mess. He said that she is a waste of the company's money and a lousy manager that has no business being in that position.

Nothing was done to shut him up, and even though DW knows that he is a delusional lying sack of worthless waste of a carbonbased life form, she still cried on the way home. It's hard for her. She tries so hard to maintain a high level of excellence in her store - she received the rank of top 20 in the NATION for customer service, top 5% in the nation for loss prevention, and has won 95% of the sales contests put to her. Yet the words stung and hurt her beyond belief. He's scum. Nothing but worthless scum as far as I am concerned. He is miserable in his own life and knows he is a screwup and to make himself feel better he has to pick apart someone else. He sees DW as an easy target because of her bad health right now and he was going to try to ride that train right into town. What a miserable piece of trash to do that to someone already suffering more than one person should on their own.

Anyway, it's over. She can't tell the employees what happened or why it happened. She can only tell them that he no longer works there. I'm sure he will be calling them on the phone and trashing her as soon as he can. Hopefully the ones that he "snowed" will know the truth.

Thanks for the warm wishes, the thoughts, the advice and the help. It means a lot to both of us. Right now what DW needs to to be reassured that those were the words of a desperate loser - not the truth.

This guy sounds like a loser.

She knows what she's done and accomplished. She knows what she's survived and continues to fight. That poor excuse for a man thought he could kick her when she was down and is leaving with his tail between his legs.
He'll be furious so she still needs to be careful.

but she's shown she's a surviver. Battered and bruised maybe, but still survives.

Good morning everyone I think Lauri feels a little bit better this morning about herself.

It was an extremely hard day as it was yesterday without the firing and the verbal assault. They had a conference call that really ended up being quite a slap in the face to the managers and Lauri had 2 different managers call her literally in tears over the issues told to them at the last minute. These managers look to Lauri for help and she does a lot of cross work within these stores to help out her boss. She spent the morning consoling them and making sure they would at least halfway smile again while just letting everything eat away at herself. I guess that is why the slanderous attack hit her too hard when she should have laughed it off.

As far as him not coming back in the store again, the company has no rule against that unless they broke a law to get fired (i.e. theft) or they went balistic upon being fired. Plus this jerk has a part time job 2 doors down from DW's store so she is going to be forced to see him. Unless that boss was looking for a reason to get rid of him too and jumps on the band wagon.

I am SOOOOOOO glad to hear this. I had my own problem child at work(although she was no way near this bad) and she finally quit a couple of weks ago. I feel like the world has been lifted from my shoulders and I know your wife will too. Her tears are really more of a release of months of stress than anything else. Hugs to you both!!!
