Hope Plantation? Photo ops????Can you do this and a beach?? How far???

have read a little about this excursion and am wondering if it's worth going? We would be interested in some outdoor pictures and scenery...flowers unique photo ops etc. we also really want to go to a beach that is not too far from port or this excursion but don't know if that is possible? Also, how far of a drive would it be to get to this and would it be safe for 2 of us to go on our own?? Thanks
