Hope DU is as good as people say

I hope Dreams Unlimited is as good as people say they are. I transferred my DCL ressie over a few weeks ago & today I found out there is a Florida Resident rate for my date. I think I can upgrade my room (from 10 to 9) for about the same price (or at least stay the same & save a few $) BUT according to DCL there is only 1 stateroom available on Deck 2 (don't really want to go to deck 1, with the portholes).
Will DU contact me or DCL in time to grab that last room? (I have sent them an email about it-hope they read it quick)

From what I have read on these boards, you are in good hands with DU!

But I'd still call rather than wait for e-mail!!

Well, they are good! I just got a call back (I left a phone msg & emailed them). Donna & Candie both called me (Donna from her car!) They took care of my cat. change (saved me a few $, but I lost my onboard credit from booking aboard ship last year) but I think the price/window was worth it. Got one of the last cat 9's on Deck 2. Was going to try to upgrade at the port but now don't have to worry about that.

They said it was not combinable with a Florida Resident discount. Bummer, since that was the on board booking credit. I also have a Disney Club card & the Disney Visa-apparently all no good for a credit with this rate.

I would definitely put my money where my mouth is when it comes to DU. Of course, you have to be sure to make sure people to get your calls and your e-mails and more so depending on the urgency of the matter.

Sounds like you got their standard very prompt and attentive service!

Yeah, from what I understand the Florida Resident rate and the Active Duty Military discount rates do not allow for any other discounts or onboard credits. We book witht he military discounts and always encounter this. That darn fine print. lol The bright side is that they are excellent rates! And I'm thankful for that.

Yes, I am very grateful that Disney is recognizing the service commitment of the military - our military deserves all the benefits it can get from these big companies and more!

Plus, on the very selfish side, I am thrilled because you and Kaye will be on the cruise with us now!!!!!!!! (Yes, thank you Disney for making that happen!!!!)

Hey Rae!

Oh heck yes! With the discounts the cruise becomes affordable for us.

I never really looked at it, but up to three rooms can be booked with the active military discount. Trying to talk my brother and his wife into going since they are big Disney fans. He has his own company in San Jose, CA and he's gotta figure how to get things shipped out while he's away. Hopefully they will be joining us.
