Hooray I'm getting married!!!

I don't want to step in again, but I was absolutely required to stay on Disney property for a minimum of four nights to have a Disney Escape wedding. Disney has nothing to do with where your guests stay. That is not Disney's concern. You and your DF MUST stay on property. Escape brides... back me up!

Hi Decemberbride,

Please, feel free to step in-I'm grateful for everyone's replies :)

Well, either way, my DF & I are planning to stay on site. All of our guests may or may not. I'm just wondering if renting DVC points from a Dis'er would count as staying on-site. The DVC's of course are all on-site, I just wonder if going that route is acceptable.

i already edited my post and advised Perla that a 4 night stay is required so she is aware.

DVC accom is acceptable :thumbsup2

Great! So, even if we rent points from a Dis'er? Wow, that would be heavenly to stay in a deluxe type resort for moderate resort prices! My DF has always wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge and now we might be able to!

You guys are very lucky to be DVC members-I'll bet that is saving a TON of money! My DF & I decided we would deal with the resort and airfare costs separately, otherwise the mere sight of the grand total of everything would be SCARY! Impractical I know, but very practical for our sanity! :rotfl:

Please let me know what you think! Once I get a confirmation from the "Disney Fairies" ;) that I haven't forgotten any expenses, we can get started on our real planning and start telling our guests about our amazing 2010 wedding!!:goodvibes

Sounds good to me!!

Any more thoughts on where you'll have your lunch after the ceremony?

NO CLUE! :goodvibes

Any ideas??? Feel free to suggest! :thumbsup2

My mom offered to pay for lunch somewhere for all of us, so I want to find someplace nice but not too expensive since there will be 16 of us (and 2 infants). We definately do not want to do a private dining reception thing.

Maybe somewhere either in Epcot World Showcase or in one of the deluxe resort restaurants.

Congrats And Welcome To The Boards!!!

Hi Perla,

Glad to see you planning your wedding! I think the Escape package sounds like the perfect thing for you! Everyone has given you great information so far, but I just wanted to add two things:

Unfortunatly, the price for the Escape Wedding has definitely gone up. :guilty: In 2009, the prices start at $4500. We are getting married in January of 2009 and this is what we were qouted in our contract for an Escape Wedding at Sea Breeze Point. The price may go up again before 2010.

Also, just wanted to make sure that you knew that Escape brides cannot eat in the praks in their wedding attire. They can, however, eat in wedding attire in one of the resort restaraunts.

HTH!

Amy

Hi Amy!

Thank you for that info. Yeah, we thought about the prices going up. We are still toying with the idea of a Swan/Dolphin wedding (I really just want to get married at Disney-thats our #1 priority), so we'll compare the prices again once we get closer to the booking date. We're shooting for a late 2010 wedding.

I wonder why they don't allow us to wear wedding dresses in the parks? I understand about not on a ride or anything, but just for a meal in a restaurant shouldn't be that big of a deal, should it?
Anyways, thanks to the great advice from everyone on here, I think we are gonna do our lunch reception at the Garden View tea room at the GF! :lovestruc It seems lovely and pretty reasonably priced!
