I thought I'd share with you all... I've been playing around with Pricceline.com for our car rental and pre-cruise hotel stay, and am thrilled with the deal I scored!

We managed to get our car rental for the entire duration of our trip (8 days) for less than the lowest quoted price I could find for just the 4 days we'll be at WDW after the cruise. We got a mid-size car rental from Budget for $160, tax in, and unlimited mileage!

Then, we changed our plan from staying near port the night before, to staying near MCO. Country Inn and Suites was going to be $114, plus tax for the 1 night stay. Thru Priceline, we landed the Sheraton Suites MCO, with free parking for $69 taxes included!

Now, the only small draw-back is we'll have to pay for parking at the port, but considering the savings we've made on the hotel and car rental, we're still going to come out ahead by over $200!

Congrats on the rental car price...that's a great one! As soon as I am able to book our flights to Disneyland for the half marathon in Sept., I am hoping to get a great deal on a rental car in CA.

We live near Orlando, but stay at the port the night before (the past 2, and our upcoming cruise) for convenience. We also like the fact that our rate at CI&S included our parking...for the 5 and 7 night cruises last year, we ended up paying about $25 for our hotel room, after taking what we would have paid at the port to park. We decided, even though our upcoming cruise on the Dream is only 4 days, we are still returning to CI&S and starting our vacation early.

Have a great trip!

That's great! I've also found it cheaper to book a rental RT from MCO via priceline than to do one or two one-way rentals, and that's even after factoring in parking at the port. Last January we got a minivan from Hertz on priceline for $19/day for our entire trip, and have gotten the Marriott MCO for $34/nt ($50 w/tax) and Hyatt MCO for $49+tax via priceline in the past.

Question for you: How do you make sure that you get the Hyatt at MCO? I have heard you have to do something in your request so that you don't end up a couple of miles from the airport. I am asking because our flight home leaves at 7:00am, and I want to make sure we are at the airport Hyatt so I don't have to deal with shuttles and luggage....

Thanks.

With Priceline, you can't guarantee you'll get a specific hotel. Our first year, I read some success stories on the bidding for travel site, submitted a bid for the highest category available (3 or 3.5 stars) that was a bit below what others bid, got rejected with an "increase your bid by $14 now to try again" note, did that, and was successful in getting 2 rooms at the Hyatt MCO. The last two times I bid, I went for a low bid on a 3 star, and got the Airport Marriott both times.

Some have had success guessing which hotel is the Hyatt on Hotwire and buying it when it's offered at a good price, but I haven't used them for a hotel so I can't speak to it.

I have the same idea. If I can get a rental full size car outta LAX for 15 or under(will start at 12 cause I have heard of it being done) and then pay parking for 7 nt cruise, it will be cheaper then getting the car for 3 days pre-cruise and for the return to airport when we get back. Plus the Crowne in San Pedro doesn't start their first shuttle till 10:30am, that is so to late for me to arrive at the port!!! Sounds like a plan, now just waiting on getting the air I want, maybe the next few days then bid the rental car!!!
