Hi. Just watched an OLD Disney Cruise video and saw some kids playing Bball. My 15 year old wants to know if there really is somewhere to hoop on the ship???? Can anyone help?
When at sea, it's quite a challenge...shooting with that breeze. They use it for other stuff, too, including relay races, games, etc. for the Oceaneers Club/Lab. One day, 1/2 was marked off as some kids played basketball while others played a mini soccer game.
And if there are big swells the basket isn't where you shot the ball to once it gets there. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it DS doesn't seem to have a problem making his shots, the only thing I can hit is the deck
You can actually watch people on the basketball court on the t.v. in your cabin (I can't remember which channel though).
Funny story, I'm on the shortish end for a woman (5'5" now, was closer to 5'4" then), so basketball and I don't generally mesh very well (the hoop is WAY too high, and i'm sticking to that story!!!)
ANyways, one of our cruise, we had the highest waves (and for the longest period of time) our captain had ever seen in his sailing career (or so he said). One of our activities in the teen club was to go play basketball.... it was not a pretty scene for me... I think i hit the ground, the side, other people more than I hit the net
Long Story short: yes, there is a a pretty good basketball court on the ship, just watch out for those waves!!!
Just off the 2/28 cruise. There was one bb hoop set up. Seems like the teens were on it most of the time unless it was set aside for kids club activities. The other half was set up for soccer.
They could easily split the bb part into two and set up another hoop. In fact, the soccer part wasn't used that much and could have better been used for two more baskets so the younger kids could play too.
