Hello,
I was thinking about booking Hoop Dee Doo for our upcoming trip. I have never seen this show. I woul love to get some opinions of it?? Also do they do anything special for Birthdays? My DS will be turning 5. We do plan on ordering a cake from one of the restaurants.
Thanks

I saw that show twice as a kid and now plan on taking my kids there for the first time this year. It's a blast and the food is good. I would imagine you could purchase a birthday cake for your child there. They also have some kind of birthday/anniversary recognition as part of the show if I remember right.

This is a must do at least once. We used to go every trip but got burnt out from the same show every time. It's a fun show and decent food. They do ask (yell out into the crowd) if anyone is celebrating birthday's/anniversaries/etc. I think your DS will love it!

Food has always been great show is also i would do it if i never saw it before it isn't a place you would do twice on a trip but you could do once a year if nothing else for the food they actually give you it by the bucket and refill if it's low you can't go away hungry :thumbsup2

This is a family favorite! We really enjoy the show and the food.

How does the food at the HDDR compare to WCC? We ate at the cafe and thought it was terrible. Is the food at the Review any better or worse?

We went to the late show this mid-December and had terrible food, chicken and ribs were dry and the mashed potatoes were watery. I don't know if this was just an anomaly, I have never had bad food here before.

I think it's a lot of fun! If you have a family that likes to laugh and have a silly time, I think it's right for most people.

When DH and I went while on our honeymoon we sat front row, dead center stage. That was a little too close for comfort (I could imagine sweat flying off into my food), but still a good time.

The only downside is getting there - I highly recommend the boat trip.

We love Hoop Dee Doo. Last trip we went twice. I can't stop laughing, even though I think I am starting to know the lines. The food is fine. The kids aren't too crazy about salad, so I usually eat most of the salad. I like it a lot - it is a basic salad with an oil and vinegar dressing. The kids love the corn bread, so they eat that right up. It is very good. The chicken is basic deep fried, and I usually eat a couple of pieces. There are also ribs, which I am not too crazy about - little too fatty for my taste. There are mashed potatoes (fine) and beans (just ok). There is also a dessert which is good. I think I got it all, but there may be another vegetable.

I ate once at the WCC, and liked the food. In my opinion, the food was better, though comparable to the HDD, at the WCC.

The show itself is so funny, because the entertainers are great. It is just plain silly, but the funniest silly there is. I just cannot say enough good aobut it.

I already have it booked for our upcoming trip.

Well I think it will be on our list. Thanks for all your replies :goodvibes your all so helpful! Does anyone know if I can order the kids something more kid friendly? I thought I heard that you could but now I can't find the thread.
Thanks.

We haven't gone yet, so I can't say from experience, but I have read that they share a kitchen with another restaurant and can provide mac and cheese and I've also seen grilled cheese with fries mentioned...

We went in August and the food was not very good. We also ate at the WCC and the food wasn't fabulous but it was better than the Hoop De Doo. Although we didn't care for the food we all enjoyed the show. We hade 4 kids ages 5 thru 11 and they were entranced. They sang the songs all week. It was our DD 6th birthday. They sang happy birthday to everyone as part of the show and our waitress brought her a cupcake. If traveling with small kids I would request the tier 1 seating or the balcony. We had tier 2 seating downstairs and we could not see very well. The kids and adults had to move all around, and stand and kneel on chairs in order to see the show.

Does anyone know if this is true?? I have one picky child out of four and this would really solve my problem!!

I love it, we went for the 2nd time last Nov and we were literally crying from laughing :). One of the performers was also having a 'Saturday Night Live' moment where he couldnt stop laughing because we were laughing so much.

I LOVE the food. The only problem I've ever had there was some of the ribs were a little too flame broiled for me on one of the trips. But the ribs other then that batch, the chicken, the potatoes and the CORNBREAD!! Yummmmmmmy..

As far as the picky eaters, if you let them know in advance that you have some special requests, they will do all they can to accomodate you. The food will come from the trails end buffet as far as I recall, so you can check it out to see what they have available.
