Hello all! Been a while since I was on here but am excited to be planning a trip for next spring.

One of our desired table service meals is the Hoop Dee Doo review. I understand why they say wheelchair accessibility is only available in Category 1, but then it says that the dining plan can only be used for Category 1 seating at the 8:15 show. There's no way we could do a show that late with our 2yo, so does that mean we wouldn't be able to use our meal plan there? Or will they make an exception for the seating restriction due to the need for accessibility? Surely we aren't the first family to come across this issue.

There is handicap seating on the first floor for Category 2 and covered by the Dining Plan. We booked it. I think the earlier you book, the better chance for best seating. Pick up your tickets as early as possible during your trip. Our dinner and show is at the earliest time -- 4pm. Then we're taking the bus to the Chip and Dale sing-along and marshmallow roast at the Meadows Trading post.

Hopefully, there is accessible seating available in a different category, since I doubt there would be an exception made for this situation.

Good luck.

just for your info but unless they have changed it, with a wheelchair you have to go through Trails End to get into Hoop. it will look like you will have to go up steps. some of cat 2 is on main floor make sure have the wheelchair marked on ressie

Book it now and let them know you need handicapped seating. We have done it several times and depending on the CM depends on where they put you. WE have been in the Cat2 seating in the back of the room and they have put us in Cat 1 seating up by the stage. I think it all depends on who the CM is and how busy they are at the time. Get there early and make sure they know you need wheelchair seating and wonder where they will put you. They did try to put us up in the cat3 seating and quickly changed that when they saw the wheelchair.

Thanks all, today was FINALLY my ADR day! I booked us in tier 2, as tier 1 was going to require an advance full payment! I did check by phone just in case, and they said they can't make an exception on the payment issue, which didn't surprise me, but they also said they can't guarantee a floor table. That did surprise me a bit, TBH. It doesn't seem like an unreasonable request; I can't help that I need the wheelchair seating - I'm a T-6 paraplegic and totally wheelchair dependent (vs. a wheelchair user who could take a few assisted steps if necessary). And the whole reason we're going to HDD is to celebrate my son's 3rd birthday, so I doubt that he's going to make it until the 8:30 show just so Mommy can get a wheelchair seat. We did book the 4pm show, so I guess we'll just have to arrive early and hope for the best. At least that is our "down" day; we're just planning on shopping at Downtown Disney and swimming at the resort, so it won't be like we're sacrificing park time for an early arrival.

Seats are assigned based on how when you book, so hopefully with this being the first day, you'll get floor seats.

. . . wheelchair seat. We did book the 4pm show, so I guess we'll just have to arrive early and hope for the best . . .

1) TrustTheScupper, you will be fine.
2) I assign seats at HDDR 2-3 times per month.
3) Make certain you call and have the wheelchair requirement noted on the ressie.

We were put at a second-floor table even when I explained our situation (one spinal injury, one broken foot), but luckily we were both ambulatory enough to hobble up the stairs with crutches. They said there was nothing they could do because it was so busy. Of course, rude guests kept trying to push past us on the stairs, but the wait staff saw what was happening and stopped traffic to let us take our time.
