Hoop Dee Doo Review

FONT]We will be staying at the Poly week of Aug. 10, and made reservations for the Hoop dee doo review. I will be with my two teenage sons (14 & 16 yrs old). Is it worth the money and time?[/SIZE]

IMO it is deffinately well worth the money. We do it every time we go and my dd's are 18, 16 and 12! It's alot of fun for the whole family and the food is very good.

I LOVE the Hoop De Doo Review. It's really so much fun. I 100% believe it's worth it. I went when I was a young girl (around 10) and had a great time, and then I went again two years ago with my husband. We loved it. The food is great and the entertainment is wonderful.

I will see HDDR for the first time this August, but we are taking DD and DSiL. DSiL remembers HDDR from when he was 8 years old on a trip to Disney and he can't wait to see it again. Asked us several times if it's definite. He's 30.

Is the Hoop Review better than the Luau?

I fully believe it is way better than the Luau. I've done both a few times and really enjoyed the HDDR experience. The food is fantastic and good 'ole American comfort food. The show is hysterical as well.

Here is my mixed review; I'm something of a foodie and while the food wasn't bad, it was rather "meh" to me. However, hubby LOVED it!! Loved the show, loved the food. Keep in mind that he is strong-and-silent John Wayne. Well, he "toot toot"ed with the rest of them ,stomped the floor and had a ball. It was absolutely worth going just for him.

If you've never been, which it sounds like you haven't, you'll have a great time. It's an "all you can eat," so if your sons are typical teen-aged boys, they should leave full. Enjoy.

Thoughts:
"Worth" is a very subjective thing. What is "worth it" to you may not be "worth it" to me. It is really hard to judge for another person.
For us the HDDR is truly worth it. We love the show and we think the food is good. It certainly is not gourmet food, but it is not trying to be.
If you like "Down Home' cooking with chicken and ribs, and if you enjoy slightly corny jokes and lots of signing, dancing, and audience participation set to a Western theme, than it most likely will be worth it to you too.
