Tried to get in on the Hoop Dee Doo Review on Valentines Day but was SOLD OUT!

However the friendly attendant did suggestive sell the Spirit of Aloha at the Polynesian. How good is the show? How good is the food? Will the kids like the show? What type of wine do they serve? :rotfl:

How does this compare to the Hoop Dee Review?

Food about the same both places. Ribs & chicken , beer and wine included and a good desert. Show at HDDR is better, do LUAU this time and next trip HDDR. But call back a few times each week before you go maybe something will open up at HDDR.

I really like the SOA! I love the mango poppyseed dressing for the salad and the pineapple cocomut bread. As mentioned there is chicken and ribs as well as rice and veggies ...dessert is a Volcano cake. In addition to the previous items, the kids can have either mac and cheese, PBJ, chicken nuggets and hot dogs (the show is great too)

I went to both the HDDR and the Aloha show with my family as a child, and what I remember is that I loved the HDDR WAY better than the Aloha show. As a child I found the Aloha show boring, and honestly can't remember much about it. Whereas the HDDR I remember vividly! Kids I believe would be more entertained by the HDDR, but if it's sold out, it's sold out... although do keep checking back just in case.

My hubby:drive: and my ddpixiedust: and I:laundy: loved both the
Spirit of Aloha and the Hoop-Dee-Doo. The food is similar at both....the ribs, chicken, beer, wine and assorted sides. We went to both in Sept 07 and plan to do both again this Sept. My dd is STILL talking about our dinners.

Thanks for all the advice!!! We got category 3 seating at the Aloha dining... Are we going to see anything?

Is it worth 2 dining tickets?

thanks!!!

There really isn't a bad seat in the house. As far a being worth 2 credits....you will have arguement both ways. I figured my DDP by adding up all probable dining choices....I may have more value on some than others. Overall I come out ahead and that is what makes the difference to me. I chose my dining by where we wanted to dine...not how much money we saved.

PS Remember the gratuity IS included at SOA.

Well you could figure 1 TS credit for the meal (and all you can eat) and 1 TS credit for the wine, beer and a show. Seems like a good deal.

:cool1: :hippie: :cool2: :flower3:

Well after looking at the menu closely we decided that our 13 year old would NOT each a majority of the items on the menu at the Spirit of Aloha and changed to the 930PM service at the Hoop Dee Review (which became available) for just 2 of us and a babysitter for the kids
