Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue - every night?

They didn't have enough vacationers for one of the seatings a few weeks ago and they canceled it last minute! My friend was livid. She had planned her whole day around going to HDDR. They told her when she got there.

This is amusing. There was a time when you had to book this a year in advance (when you still could) with three seatings every night and recently we have been able to book it almost at the last minute. What's amusing is that it's one of the few things that's still as good as it always was both in entertainment and food. Most of the "signature" restaurants have declined in quality and are usually booked solid months ahead of time. Perhaps WDW really has embraced the "amusement park" mentality. :sad1:

Yes, it does! I must say that we've gone to the dinner and the kids just loved it!

We have never been to HDDMR, but plan on going this Sept. to celebrate my 40th around the same time Disney celebrates its 40th. I found my way here because someone asked the same question that I have had. I have seen conflicting reports... some websites say it is nightly, while others say it only done on Thur and Sat nights. Right now is too early to book for it, but trying to decide on the night of the week to go!

Perhaps it depends on the time of year as to if they are open nightly or only a few nights of the week. I assume that if you can make a reservation for a particular night then the show is on. :goodvibes

Yes even though some websites, including this one:rolleyes1, say things like

This dinner show can be booked by calling 407-WDW-DINE. The Revue is performed on Thursday and Saturday only.

When we went in august at the second seating, we were actually about 10 families watching the show! I'm guesssing they just can't fill it up anymore!

The performance is absolutely amazing though, and the food is to die for. But i'm guessing by the attendance.. they must show it every night.

The HDD Review it the longest running contuoius stage show in the world......365 days a year....since October 17, 1971, when WDW opened.

My guess if the shows are playing to less than capacity is that the tough economy is impacting families ability to go for the HDD...if you are using the 'free' dining, this is a 2 TS meal, so many families may just pass on it for this trip to maximize meals during their stay....

I went in August and it was at capacity - interesting that it has been so empty - kinda shocked when I read only 10 families were there for a performance.

You are confusing 2 shows. HDDR is nightly 3 times a night year round. Mickey's Backyard Bar-B-Q is twice weekly about 7 months a year. The BBQ is outdoors under a canopy and the highlight is kids dancing with Mickey and other characters. The menus are very similar, but the BBQ has hot dogs and Mickey ice cream bars.

I am Not confusing the 2 shows at all!!!! The websites are giving conflicting statements!

WDWinfo says.... " The Revue is performed on Thursday and Saturday only"

Disney's site says... "This nightly old-fashioned dinner show includes music and comedy combined with an all-American, family-style dinner."

Sorry but I need help to understand where this is and more about the options you've described? (I can't believe in 20 years of visits I've never heard of this???)

Thanks for your help!

It's every night.

1) Four weeks per year, they do 5-nights per week. *
2) Otherwise, they perform everyday that ends in "y".

* This is to get rid of vacations during the slow periods.
