Hoop-Dee Doo Musical Review - Yay or nay?

We loved the HDDR. We reserved a loooooooong time prior to our trip and we were really happy to be seated next to the stage on the left side (audience perception). We were featured in the intro skit - - we're Michigan residents and they sang "From the land of wolverines, all the way for chicken and beans!" I also liked the greeting for folks from Florida - - "Florida is so nice that they let you vote twice!" The food is decent, not great/not bad. You're paying for the show, not the food. My wife and I were laughing so hard that we had tears rolling down our faces. The kids (DD6 & DD7) liked it as well - especially the character Six Bits and his humorous escapades. Some of the jokes might go over the heads of younger kids. You have to go into it with the proper mindframe. It's corny, its cheesy, but it's a whole lot of fun. We'll definitely visit HDDR on our next WDW trip. We have been singing and humming the "Hoop De Doo" theme ever since we walked out of Pioneer Hall.

Definate Yea here!
We did this with my daughters softball team back in 2002 with 28 people in our party. They put the 12 girls together at 1 table and split the adults up with 2 tables. We had a blast, have a great time.

I've never even thought about eating at the HDDR, but I think you guys have talked me into it! I may just surprise my dh with this as an early Father's Day gift! :woohoo: He'll love the idea of AYCD! :teeth:

Can't say enough about how much fun the Hoop-Dee Revue is. Did it the last time we went and just made my reservation for the 5:00 pm show in early December. I also agree the food is not gormet, but for a Good Ol BBQ it is great.

 Hi everyone! I just wanted to pop in and say that you have gotten me so excited for my first HDD in Sept! Yay, I can't wait :yay:

I am glad there are alot of yahs because I was on another thread and they talked about getting sick from the food and we have ressies on our upcomming visit and I was a little nervouse....now I am glad we decided to do it.

Hmmmm....I have kids who will be the same age, 4.5 and 2.5 and I was planning on skipping it but I might reconsider. We have nothing planned for our first night so far and that might be a fun thing to try.

 Hi! The other thread was mine. (Hoop-Dee-Dooped) Just wanted to say that we don't think it was the food that made us sick. We just happened to NOT like the show, or the food - then on top of it all we got really sick 2 hours later! This ended up being the last thing we did at Disney. Well the last thing I'm willing to talk about.... sick in the room doesn't count. :rotfl:
