Hope I do this right as I am new to the boards. Family- DH, DS (9) & DS (6) will be going Jan 4-10, 2009. :yay: First trip in 4 years. DH wants to do the Hoop Dee Doo ...anyone know if it will be running that week and is it worth the money??? Thanks for any insight.

The HDDR is a must for us on every trip, it is well worth the money and your kids will love all the funny stunts and corny jokes. I don't know why it wouldn't be available when you are there. We have learned to go to the early show as it's easier to get transportation back to your resort.

It sure is running that week because we are going to it on Jan 6. It is my first time but my Dh and his family have been several times and they enjoy it.

It will be running if disney is open IMO. It's the longest continous running stage show in the galaxy or something isnt it?

Worth it? Some people say no, I say yes. It's corny, it's funny, the performers are great IMO. The food is right up my alley. Ribs, chicken, smashed taters... yum.... Some people think it's too costly, but you are getting food and almost a 2 hour show. See how much it is to goto a concert or a broadway show.

:confused3 The last 2 shows have buses that go right to the resorts just outside pioneer hall. Yes, they will stop at other resorts but I'm not sure how it can get easier?? The early show you will either take a boat back to the MK then get a bus, or take a bus to the front of FW and then a bus to a park then a bus to your resort.

They have buses that will take you to the resort you are staying at? I didn't know that, it would make it so much easier than taking the bus to DTD and then the bus back to our resort...what a time saver, ty dburg30 for this tip.

We went to Hoop de Doo review in September and it was some of the best food we had while there (and we supposedly ate at some of the best places Disney had to offer) and it was one of the trip highlights for our whole entire family ages 5 thru 87. Don't miss it!

Thanks everyone for the info. Sound like something my DH and DS's would like & that it is worth the $$$$$$.

Hi MustangMom:

Yes, it's fun... just be aware that it's corny... but we enjoy that type of humor.

Have a Great Trip and enjoy the show,

Mark

In my 10 times to the World I have never seen but this time we are doing it. We have the DDE and will do it Jan 3. We have the 930pm show and got a catg 1 seat. Not sure if we will drive or take the bus over.

We have reservations (just got them a few days ago) on Jan 6 @9:30. So hopefully you will get to go. This is my first time at HDDR.

YESSS! DO IT!

We loved it, and are doing it again this trip and are treating friends to the experience with us!

Can you ask for different food for a child? My daughter's stomach wouldn't do well with fried chicken and beans (she has IBS).

It sure is worth the money but be aware they do get people from the audiance into the show and even on stage. I got picked to go on stage and last year was our 25th anniversary and they had some fun with use again.

We loved it. DH and I went on Nov 11. We had cat 1 seating and we actually had the very front and center seats, up against the stage, center. It was fun. It is interactive and it's fun. We enjoyed the food too, even if it was not good for our diets, lol. We'll go back next time. We've done the luau before, but won't do it again.

I was quite ready to cancel our ADR's for our October trip...however. I have to say, it was one of the best meals we had all week. They were funny, whitty, and the kids enjoyed it! ages 2, 5, and 6.

I cant wait to go back...we booked for march again on the next trip. It was worth it....
Just dont forget your ID if you plan to drink while there...they are strick on ID even when you are OVER 30!! My Husb's bday was that day, and he just turned 32! He was not allowed a beer!

They didn't ask for our ID's. I had blush wine and DH had Sangria.

I don't recall ever seeing busses that go from Pioneer Hall to anywhere but Wilderness Lodge, or to the Fort Wilderness Outpost (parking lot) where you can catch OTHER busses to DTD and the parks. No busses to other resorts that I'm aware of. You can also take the boat to WL or MK and go from there.

Do you think it is a good idea for my DF and I to do it during the late show I was thinking it might be cool to sit on top and laugh at all the corny stuff and have a meal is the food good what kind do they surve
