Wanted to take in a dinner show this trip--me, DH, DD4, DS2 and MIL. Due to my kids ages I was trying to decide between HDD and MBBQ. I felt that there might be too much choas for a 2 year old at the BBQ. I just wouldn't feel comfortable letting him go up and dance in the middle of all those kids which is part of the whole experience, right?

So we decided on HDD. Now I'm worried that my son might be too young for this show. I'm pretty sure my DD will enjoy it. She's almost 5.

Is it worth the 2 credits for each of us to see w/ a 2 year old, or should I cancel and make ressies somewhere else?

Our other ressies already include: 1900 PF, Tusker house, Sanaa, CRT, Mama Mel, CM, Le Cell, Garden Grille, Boma and Akershus. We got rid of Whispering CC to book HDD.

Any thoughts on canceling or keeping? Thanks for your help!!

This show is lots of comedy and skits-no Disney characters. We have seen it three times, but I think my girls were older the first time. I'm not sure how much a two year old will be able to take in and understand at any dinner show. I haven't heard about the Mickey BBQ.

We did the HDDR two years ago and loved it! My girls (at that time) were 3 years old and 20 months old and they thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! They got to play musical instruments, bang their silverware and swing their napkins around. They loved watching the actors sing and dance and best of all my father (their grandfather) was one of the people picked out of the crowd that Ruby (I think that was her name) kept talking to and kissed. It was too funny! The food was good too and child friendly. I personally would say to go!

My kids loved it last year (and we are going again on the 29th). At the time I had a 5 yr old, 3 yr old, and 8 month old with me.

Thank you guys for your input. I'm going to stick with the plan and we'll give it a try! I know he might not really "get" the show or whatever--I just want him (and the rest of us!) to have a good time! :)

Keep it!:thumbsup2 My DD was 2 1/2 when we first took her and even though she didn't understand everything, she loved all the singing and dancing. This was one of the kids favorite things from the trip.:goodvibes

DD (6 at the time) LOVED it
I think the kids will love it...i recall see lots of little kids bouncing around & wiggling in thier chairs!!!

My little brother (OK...he'll be 21 this year, but he was little at the time) absolutely *loved* HDDR when my family visited Disney World for the first time. He was 3 years old at the time. My mom still likes to tell him about how he was entranced by the entire show and sat still to watch the whole thing. You know your kids best, but I would not rule this show out just based on the age. It's a fun, family show that our whole family enjoyed at the time and still enjoy all these years later.

Thank you guys! We are definitely going to go now, esepcially after I have heard all the good comments for taking younger kids. I'm actually looking forward to it rather than dreading it...

OH, what a fun time you'll ALL have. He'll love using the spoon on the washing board at the end, be sure to take some pix!!

Have a great trip!!:wizard:

My kids were a bit older but they LOVED it!! If we had more time we'd definitely do it again.
