If I call this to book do they just hold CC# on actually charge it? I just have a problem with paying for something until I actually get it, or at least until closer to the date.

Unless you are on the DDP they will charge your CC in full for the reservation. If you are on DDP they take your card as a hold.

It's been a few years since we have gone to the Hoop de doo but I always gave a CC# to hold the reservation. Then we would pay for it the day we went. I always thought the only way they charge your card is if you didn't cancel your reservation and didn't show up! I would ask just to make sure! We love it by the way... The food is really good and the show is really funny! Enjoy!

lisabelll is correct. If you are on the dining plan it is just a hold. If you aren't, then they will charge you in full.

They do not charge your credit card until 48 hours before the show. They take your credit card to hold the reservation. You can cancel anytime up to 48 hours before your show. If you cancel within the 48 hours, you will be charged for the meal/show. I am not on the dining plan and I just did this last week. They did not charge my credit card, in fact, until I picked up the tickets the day before the show.

I just booked HoopDeeDoo for August and my cc was charged the full price of the show. It is refundable if you cancel 48 hours. I got the cc bill yesterday and the charge was there. :)

I don't know how Christine is not being charged till she picks up her tickets. Like "justloveit" the charge is already showing up on my credit card I won't be going till the end of September. I even asked if it would just be a hold and the CM said "no, it will be a charge that will be reimbursed if you cancel at least 48 hours before."

Maybe this is something new since Christine says she just did this last week and "jusloveit" and I are going in August and September.:confused3

What is the problem in paying in advance for something? It is fully refundable until 48 hours prior, it's not like you'll lose you money if you change your mind. They don't rip you off or anything :)

I don't have any problem with paying in advance. By paying now I am assuring that I will get the seating area #1 that I want. This area is on the main floor, closer to the front. Seating area #2 is in the back on the floor or in the front in the balcony, Seating area #3 is in the back of the balcony. I was in the balcony the first time we went and on the floor near the stage the second time. I prefer the floor area nearer the stage.

They didn't used to have different seating areas, you got your seating by how early you booked in advance. The earlier, the better seats, the later, the back on floor or in the balcony. Now you pay by what you get. I think it was $50.95 for area #3, $54.95 for area #2 and $58.95 for area #1. It all depends on what you are willing to pay. I wanted to assure we would be on the floor, so I paid the premium price.

I bought tickets for a local show to see David Cassidy and had to pay in advance when I bought them, which was 4 months before the show. I will be seeing him on April 28th at Penn's Peak in PA and I am so looking forward to it. If I didn't pay then, I would not have guarenteed seats. I could have waited to pay till later and then they might have been sold out.

I've seen Hoop Dee Doo three times, all before the tier level thing. It was always stressful wondering where you were going to be sitting.

We lucked out twice with tables right at the stage, it was great. The other time we were near the back of the main floor and it was difficult to see the show because the servers were always walking by in front of us.

I just bought tickets for Dirty Dancing in December! 3rd row woo hoo

It could be that I booked the HDDR only two weeks before I actually went on my trip. I was checking my credit card several times before I left because I was trying to see if my vacation home had been charged and I never saw the HDDR show hit my credit card. When I went to the concierge to pick up my tickets two days prior to the show, she told me she was "running my card thorugh." So, who knows?:confused3

I have a problem paying now because I can better use the mony elsewhere
like my kids summer daycare that I am trying to scrape together. I know I will have money for when my trip comes but right now is hard.

Sorry, obviously money for daycare is more important than money for Disney.

Good luck.

Sorry guys but how did you book it 1 year inadvance??? I called just after I got back in March to re-book again next March and they said you can't book until 180 days. How did you??? Do I really have to wait until September???

it used to be 2 years, but then it was phased down to 6 months, with a brief 1 year stop along the way.

it's been mentioned ad nauseum already here, but just to clarify, all dining shows (HDD, CRT, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, etc) are charged in full at time of booking - or at least they're supposed to be. the only exception is when they ask you if you're on the DDP, in which case a yes answer will require you to leave a credit card number as security, but will not be charged (unless you're a no-show).

this is how it is now.

tours also require payment in full at time of booking as do tickets.

I booked at the 180 +10 day mark for October yesterday. I didnt think you could do it 1 year ahead either, though I never tried.
