We are thinking about booking HDDR for our trip in April. There will be 7 of us total, 6 adults and one 4 year old. Do you think the 4 year old will be bored? He's not super thrilled about loud noises (fireworks, instruments, etc), so do you think this will scare him at all? Not sure if it's quite loud in there or not.

Also in terms of the food, I see it is all you can eat, but are the choices somewhat limited?

Thanks in advance!

Your four year old will love it! There aren't loud noises that I remember. My two year old was enthralled with it. They do a lot of crowd interaction and the kids get to waive their napkins in the air and play washboards at the end.

I definitely don't think the 4 year old will be bored. My niece will be 18 months when we go, and we weren't going to bring her (we were going to leave her with our parents while we went), but she loves noise and fun things going on around her, so we are taking her. It is a lot of fun. It does get a noisey at the end when they give out the washboards and everyone plays them at once.

We took DS on his 5th birthday. I was frankly worried to death as his attention span in a restaurant is usually limited and I figured he'd have no interest in the song and dance. Boy was I wrong, he was enthralled with the show, was totally focused on it the whole time, got into the interaction, etc. He talks about it almost a year later and remembers some of the jokes. It was a great evening.

I found the food options reasonable. Chicken, ribs, baked beans, Mac and cheese (I think), corn bread, seems like there were a few more sides as well. Typical Disney mass produced food, but it was good. And oh yeah, beer....unlimited beer. :drinking:

My kids are relatively sensitive to sound and are never bothered. Disney in general is very loud. Hoop de Doo is a notch down from many experiences, (fireworks. Even just the ambient music blaring in places where you can't converse.) I wouldn't count on extra meal items. We have had options provided for allergies, but only direct alternatives for those items the person couldn't eat. (Grilled chicken instead of fired, baked potato instead of mashed.) others may have had different experiences.

The menu is a Minnie Mum posted. Salad and Corn bread when you sit down, buckets of fried chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, corn, baked beans and strawberry shortcake for dessert. It is all you care to eat. It includes beer, wine, sangria and soft drinks, tax and tip. We love it all. But, short of allergies, the menu is what it is.
Have Fun

Our grandkids loved it when they were small. They serve salad in buckets - cute. If you want max and cheese for a picky eater, they will be glad to bring it. Good food and a lot of fun.

We took our three year old last year and she really liked it. She does not like loud noises or even loud music (she complained about the loud band at my sister's wedding), but she did not complain at all at the show. She sat still and ate and watched it. If the child is bored with the show, he will have lots of good food in front of him to keep him entertained.

We went when my daughter has just turned 4---she does have sensitive hearing and we were sitting at the table right against the stage. Well, she LOVED it---was laughing out loud and singing and loved the food also..
Have fun.....

My son did it when he was 2.5 hrs old. He had a blast. He loved all the action. Had no idea what was going on. Lol. But deff liked all the action and music. He had a good time eating too but he isn't picky. It's just a good time if u never did it. That was our 2nd time back to it since my wife and I were dating. We totally forgot how much we liked it for just a fun night. It's one of those meals we always talk about cause it poured like a mother when we got there and were totally soaked. We were late and that's what we got for being late! Soaked. Lol We were just going to leave but one of the cast members brought us over to our table and wrapped us together in a tabl cloth. Lol. It was pretty funny and just a fun night. That's what Disney is about. Those little memories.

Take the kid. He will hopefully have a good time! U guys will too!
