I am really excited to hear about your PA wedding, as I am also in PA! We ended up having ours on Long Island, where my parents are and where I grew up, but we were looking into PA options for awhile.

Your story of how you met is so sweet! And that's fantastic that you were able to find jobs right out of school! My DH was also lucky and got hired right away, so we are very thankful for that.

How we got Engaged <3

After two amazing birthday celebration days, Mark had the idea to take a relaxing trip to my favorite state park; Ricketts Glen in Benton, Pa. We got up early to take the 2.5 hour drive to our destination and couldn’t wait to get to our favorite place.

Ricketts Glen is a state park that offers hiking, camping, snowmobiling, boating, fishing and so much more. Our favorite thing to do there is hike Falls Trail, something my father has made a tradition in our family. Falls Trail is a 7.2 mile hike that has 21 amazing waterfalls ranging in heights of 11 feet to 94 feet. It is so beautiful from every angle and there is so much to do along the trail. Some of the water falls even let you stand almost behind the water and experience it up close.

But enough about the waterfalls, how did Mark propose!? Well, the trail is mainly a big loop or circle, so we decided to start at the top. The whole way down Mark refused to go in the water, or really even go close to the edge. I would frequently test the water temp and just be adventurous the whole way down. The hike was beautiful, with perfect weather and perfect spring scenery. At the bottom, at “Waters Meet”, there is a bridge and water hole where we typically will take our lunch break. As we sat for lunch, we admired the nature around us and watch the people/children play in the water hole. I even remember how bad out lunch was, soggy Wawa hoagies from that morning.

As we sat for lunch and finished up, I still sat there relaxing and taking it all in. Then all the sudden I see Mark go into his pocket and pull out a floss box.. YES a floss box! (Everyone knows how nosey I am, Mark assumed that I would have known and investigated if he would have had a big ring box in his pocket lol.) In this floss box was an amazing ring, something so beautiful I didn’t have words to describe it at first. Then Mark ask the famous question! And with some shock, excitement and amazement I of course said yes!

After putting on that amazing ring, I couldn’t do anything but stare and it and of course barely touched my hands on the ground throughout the rest of the hike! It was such a beautiful and memorable place to do it, Mark did an amazing job. And yes….

It was A Dream Come True.​

Aww, what a wonderful proposal! Ricketts Glen looks beautiful, DH and I may have to go there sometime. His family has a house in the Poconos and it looks like it's only about an hour from there. We did Buschkill Falls last time but would love to find another really pretty park to hike! What a perfect proposal spot

Wedding Logo & Colors <3

First, our wedding logo. I need to work on the colors to make it Tiffany Blue more, but I think it looks good!

Next, our wedding colors! I love Tiffany Blue and I love Black Paisley. So I am doing a mixture of the three.

The table clothes will be Tiffany Blue, with a black/white paisley runner and either white or black napkins.

Honeymoon Lodging - Part 1 <3

May 6th - May 11th

We have decided to do a split stay for our honeymoon, with the first 5 nights at Port Orleans French Quarter.

This will be a first visit to POFQ for by DFi and I, so we are excited to check it out.

One of the reasons we picked POFQ, was because of how small the resort it. For the first part of our honeymoon, we wanted to make sure we had a peacefult beginning. I have read many reviews that said with POFQ being so small, it is one of the best resorts for couples looking for exactly that, a peaceful and romantic vacation.

We also fell in love with the scenery, including the many founds, amazing buildings, and all the well groomed grounds. It is the perfect scenery for us!

I LOVE the face that all of the rooms have just been redone - this is a big bonus! We have requested a King Size Bed - and I hope that it is on an upper floor.

Lastly, I love the face that there is a boat to DTD and POR. This is a great addition to our for 5 nights!

Overall, we are very excited for the opportunity to start our Honeymoon at POR! If anyone has suggestions or ideas to spend our time at POFQ, please let me know!

Honeymoon Lodging - Part 2 <3

May 11th - May 16th

For the second part of our honeymoon, we will be spending 5 nights at AKL - making our honeymoon a total of 10 nights!

DFi had a huge part in choosing this resort and I am so glad that he did. He really wanted to be able to see the animals upfront, close, and right outside his door. So, we booked an Arusha View for the 5 nights!

The animals are a huge attraction for us, and I know that you can easily see them from other areas in the resort. But why not take advantage of eating your breakfast on the balcony and watch giraffes at the same time?

The lobby itself is an attraction to me, and I love how much this resort has to offer. I can't wait to check out Boma for breakfast and Jiko for dinner! And as always, participate in some of the resort activities.

Just like POFQ, we have asked for a King size bed. Only problem is I heard some reviews that most of the Kings at AKL are handicap accessible, and I would prefer a tub on our honeymoon. Any experience with this?

Overall, I am just amazing by this resorts beauty! I can't wait to get there
