Greetings; I am getting married this Sept.

My soon to be wife has never been to WDW. I have been a few times as a single guy....

I was thinking of staying at the Yacht Club. We will be driving from the Cruise Port of Miami after a week cruise on Royal Caribbean. She knows about the cruise but not about Disney World it's a little surprise; I will tell her soon...

Do you think the yacht club is good for honeymooners? I have a hold on a room to stay 7 nights; I want to be close to the parks and it looks like the yacht club is a good place to stay as it is close to it all!!!

Is renting a car the best way to get from the port of Miami to WDW?

Is Oct 8-15 kind of a slow time as far as lines ??

Thank you!!!! ( Oh how can I get those bride and groom Mickey ears before we go, so I can suprise her with the trip)

I think the surprise is an amazing idea!! Although I have never personally stayed at the Yacht Club, I think it is a beautiful resort. It is very close to both EPCOT and MGM. I think you and your future wife would be very happy there.

Miami is a distance from WDW. I think a car rental is defintely your best bet. Will you be flying home from MCO or MIA? You might want to keep the car for the full week on site with you. WDW transportation is generally very good, but having the option of driving your own vehical can be useful for situations like dinner at a different resort, so that you don't have to transfer buses at a hub (DTD or a themepark).

October is not a PEAK travel time at WDW, but it is near Halloween so there will be the added MNSSHP travelers. You might want to look into getting tickets to one of the evenings for you and your future wife. If you do not decide to get tickets to the party, at least plan for an evening dinner at the Contemporary one of the party nights, and go out on the balcony areas for the special MNSSHP fireworks. They pipe in the music and storyline and it is very entertaining.

Are you planning on having the DDP?
