I'm 1 podcast behind so not sure if anyone touched on this subject yet since Julie reported.

My wife and I used the honeymoon registry when were were married and LOVED it. Our wedding was in WDW and we knew people were unable to make it and even with the folks that could we weren't in a position to haul back a bunch of gifts with us. Besides, how many toaster ovens can 1 person have. It's been a year since we were married but at that time it had dining, champagne glasses, picture frames, etc. It basically just put the value of the gift on the gift card and you can use as you like. The card itself is a nice little wedding memento. Now, I guess this isn't for everyone but we love having our home decorated with Disney so this is EXACTLY what we wanted. For us to register at a department store or some pottery barn lookalike is utterly useless. This allowed us to purchase items from our favorite place and we'll always have these items to remind us of that incredible day.

Just thought I'd relay some first hand experience with the honeymoon registry.

We used the honeymoon registry for our wedding in May 2007. It was nice to get that gift card with money sent from our friends and families. We felt it was a creative idea. Of course, once we got there we decided we wanted different picture frames/snowglobes than we had registered for but since it was a big gift card we had the flexibility to get something different. We were very happy with our whole honeymoon experience there with our own little magic moments like getting sung to and everyone congratulating us.

A friend of mine had done something like this for her honeymoon in Hawaii. It worked out awesome for her. DBF promised we can atleast honeymoon in Disney world and since we have already lived together for 2 years and have a home we pretty much have everything that would be given as gifts if we registered at Bed bath and beyond. so it is definatly something to look into for some people. I know we will! :goodvibes
