My fiance and I are starting to plan our honeymoon to WDW for next August. I have been many times, but always as a family or girls weekend. What are some great ideas for a Disney honeymoon?? I don't want to forget restaurants or experiences that would be fun for the two of us!

Victoria and Albert's at the Chef's Table or Queen Victoria Room.
We are going there for our wedding night dinner.

Victoria and Albert's is definitely an experience no matter where you sit so if you've never been I would suggest starting with the regular dining room, still an absolutely amazing night!

Here's a few things we did and loved:
  • Pre-park opening Crystal Palace ADR so that we could get empty park pictures with the castle
  • Make sure it's on your reservation that it's your honeymoon, we came back one night to champagne and chocolate strawberries :D
  • With that also make sure it's on all your dining reservations too
  • Take advantage of extra magic hours, especially at night! We loved walking around a near-empty World Showcase late at night
  • We went on "dates" to nice restaurants every night
  • Late night swimming in the quiet pool or hot tub
  • We wore our honeymoon buttons constantly!
  • Slow down in the parks, we took our time to just hold hands and walk around and explore and it ended up being better than any ride or attraction
  • Watch the fireworks as often as you can: we love watching Wishes from the bridge in New Fantasy Land, it's like they're right over your head, super romantic
  • Have at least one morning "off" we're go-go-go people but having a morning to just sleep in and relax and have coffee on the balcony was a great change of pace
  • When you're planning keep in mind time for you guys to just relax together. I swear most of our conversations that week were just "we're married, wow, we're married" and more than running around at our usual pace, we really just wanted to appreciate the time together. It was a much slower paced trip but better for that

And the grand finale- we bought DVC (aka spent allllllll our money)! Not exactly a recommended activity but it was the highlight of our honeymoon haha!

It won't just be the two of you...but IF you are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge you could be able to book the special Jiko Safari package. It is limited to about 12 guests I believe and you need to be staying at AKL...and you check in at 3:20pm from memory. Then you go on a safari around the AKL Savannah. Then you have a Jiko Dinner. We are doing that during our Honeymoon.

This is called the Wanyama Safari and it is fabulous - whether you are on your honeymoon or not!
