So today I am finally trying to put together some sort of Itinerary for our honeymoon on Oahu NEXT MONTH! Oh goodness it's coming up quick. No plane tickets, no hotel reservations.... yeah trust me I'm freaking out! DF is working on that though.

We may have had a hotel change, we were originally going to stay at Aulani, but when we started doing some research we found a hotel we really liked with quite a bit more activities we would like to do onsite. This hotel is the Turtle Bay Resort, and we found it after watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall. DF is particularly attached to it because of the Segway tour and biking trails. I like that it is 5 miles around and looks to have a lot more adult friendly activities than Aulani does. Anyway, on to my questions. :)

I was wondering if this sounds ok, I'm not sure it's possible but if it is, I'd like to take one day to drive around Oahu and stop at a few of the biggest attractions, adding a quick tour of Aulani along the way. Here's what I have in no particular order.

-Waikiki (Diamond Head hike, shopping around the mall)
-Honolulu for Pearl Harbor tour & would like a meal at Margaritaville
-Aulani tour
-Dole Whip plantation for Dole Whips

Is this do-able in one day? I think it would be great for us to see all these things, but definitely nice to get it done in one day so we have the rest of our days at the resort enjoying the amenities there. Anything else we should squeeze in there that is a must-see? We're both pretty adventurous and if we're paying all this money to get down there and it wouldn't be worth it to us if we just went there to relax (we can do that here :))

While at the resort, we will be doing a little more relaxing. Walking along the shore line is a must for us, snorkeling is a must for me, and a few quick random things here and there. Any help will be greatly appreciated! :)

I have been to Oahu twice and you can definitely drive around the island in one day. I just don't know if all of that is doable in one day. I have not done the Diamond Head hike or Pearl Harbor so I am not sure how long that takes. The dole plantation doesn't take that long. I think you maybe able to do it all in two days. If you want a great snorkeling spot you must do Hanauma Bay. It's a dollar to park and maybe $8 to get in but I loved it. I haven't been to Turtle Bay but from Forgetting Sarah Marshall it looks beautiful. I have stayed at Aulani and I love it. I am a DVC member though. Not sure how long you were gonna stay on Oahu but if you wanted to stay a few nights at Aulani too you could always look into renting DVC points. I hope this helped some.

We just went to Aulani for our HM in May, we stayed about 10 days. We did see Pearl Harbor, our bus left Aulani around 6:30AM I think and we got back around noon- there was traffic getting from Aulani to PH and they only allow so many people into Pearl Harbor, so if you want to go there I suggest going first or you may get turned away. They also apparently don't always allow the boats out to the memorial. I think you need to buy your tickets ahead of time for this to guarantee you can get in. Aulani is about a 1/2 hour away from PH (kind of out of the way). You may have to have some sort of reservation for a meal or spa etc at Aulani to get in- they make you stop at a guard shack, even when we were checking in the guard shack looked us up by name and confirmed we were supposed to be there that day to get in. Just a heads up :) I'm sure you could have lunch at Ama Ama on the beach, you'll be able to see the lagoon have lunch and head to your next stop. You won't be able to use the pools or the chairs at the beach as they require everyone to show their room key and wear bracelets every day.

I think the Dole Plantation might be closer to Aulani but I'm not positive. We took a helicopter tour and went over it, as well as Diamond Head. Diamond Head is past Honolulu as well, so depending where Turtle Bay is, I think mapping out your route is your best best to get these things all in a day. Aulani closes everything down pretty early, at least when we were there (restaurants, bars, etc by like 8 or 9pm) just in case you were thinking of going late. Have fun!
