Me and my fiance are having trouble deciding where to go for our honeymoon. We plan on getting married in April, and the two top choices for us are Hawaii and Walt Disney World. I really would love to go to WDW for a few days, however; if all goes according to plan we can take our future kids to WDW several years from now. My parents would also love to take a trip with any grandkids they have to WDW to boot.

My fiance would really like to go to Hawaii and see the volcanoes, etc. Both are fantastic honeymoon destinations, and I would enjoy myself regardless of which location we choose.

Which destination would you choose?

Poll forthcoming.

(Like this poll won't be biased *snicker* :rotfl: )

Hawaii :)

Then again, I'm biased -- that's where my honeymoon was (Maui). We went to WDW for our first anniversary. Maui was much more relaxing (which is what we needed) than WDW. :)

If I could afford both, I'd choose Hawaii. :thumbsup2 WDW will always be a great family destination, but you only get one (or two  )honeymoons. Make it really romantic

As much as I love Disney, I view Hawaii as a once in a lifetime trip. That being said, if the two of you have a special connection to WDW, then go there. It will be a very special trip that will hold many memories for you. No matter how many times you go in the future, those memories will stay and you can just add to them with each additional trip.

Hawaii if you like a relaxing destination that is guaranteed to be warm. The last time I was at Disney in April it was 52 degrees, no joke.

I voted for Hawaii, even though I honeymooned in WDW.

My son was 5 when I got married, so we did a combination Disney Cruise and WDW. My son was the primary reason we chose WDW, since this was his honeymoon too. At least according to him!

I think if you are still childless, I would go for something a bit more romantic. There's plenty of time for Disney later.

Pick Hawaii!!! It sounds so romantic! We honeymooned at WDW, it was great, but if we had the choice....Hawaii it would have been. Take the kiddos to WDW, you will be going there many, many, times with them. Hawaii can be your special place together.

Wo0w..Hawaii....I am sooo jealous. Have a wonderful wedding and honeymoon!

Wow ~ I'm in the minority. I voted WDW because I would have loved to go before kids. Hawaii is very relaxing and beautiful so maybe that will be needed after the wedding.

Since you're fiance really wants to go to Hawaii, I'd do what she wants, but I picked WDW for my tastes.

WE are doing WDW for our honeymoon. We have the BEST time of our lives there on our last trip and we couldn't think of anything more romantic. Besides, my fiance has been to Hawaii 5 different times so he's pretty much seen it.

I think we be going to Hawaii then. We definately want to go someplace warm.

I pick Hawaii. You can always go to WDW but Hawaii is something special. I really wished I had gone there.

DH & I decided the same thing for our honeymoon. We originally planned Hawaii, he looked into great resorts, etc. Then I had mentioned sometime we'll have to go to Disneyworld..he said why dont we go there on our honeymoon? DH & I are not really beach people, we dont scuba dive or snorkel or any of that, and w/Disney you have all the great restaurants and tons to do. We ended up getting a 1 bdrm suite at the YC. It was great! And I'm glad we went on our own prior to having kids. We'll go to Hawaii sometime, but we'll bring our DDs with us when they're older.

I chose WDW. DH and I went on a Disney cruise and spent a few days at WDW for our honeymoon. It was a LOT cheaper than Hawaii (we're on the east coast and the airfare to Hawaii is a lot). Plus we didn't lose a couple of days in travel time. I'd love to go to Hawaii, but we're waiting until DD is a little older so she can enjoy it too. IMO Hawaii is really overdone as a honeymoon location. The last two weddings we went to had Hawaii honeymoons, and I have two weddings scheduled for next year, with BOTH couples honeymooning in Hawaii!

You might want to consider the Disney cruise like we did. We got a dose of tropical beaches and enjoyed WDW too

I guess I'll buck the trend and say WDW. We got married and honeymooned and Disney World, and it was perfect for us. We are the type that likes to do stuff on vacations, so we liked having the parks and other resorts available to us. If you think that you prefer less activity on your honeymoon, then I would go with Hawaii. Hope that helps!

DH and I honeymooned in Hawaii (Maui and the Big Island). You really can't go wrong with either choice, but IMO Hawaii is special! We'll definitely be going back. There's lots to do on the islands--it's not necessarily a sit-on-the-beach-with-a-mai-tai destination. Unless, of course, that's all you want to do! :)

I had to LOL out the responses. I guess it's because I'm from the West Coast and have family in Hawaii, but I probably consider WDW much more of a "once in a lifetime" trip than Hawaii! I've been to Hawaii more than WDW.

We went to WDW on our honeymoon and then on our 10th anniversary(with the kids that time). The thing I liked about a WDW honeymoon is that we didn't have to plan anything. Everything was right there, we just sort of went with the flow and did whatever we wanted. If we'd gone to Hawaii I think we would have had more "what should we do today" decisions. WDW was great because whatever time schedule we wanted to follow or not follow - there it was, everything at our fingertips.

When we go to Hawaii we do a lot more driving around, etc.
