I lie about relationships. Rather than saying, "My best friend's sister-in-law's best friend's brother's wife who we see at a party four or five times a year" I'll say, "a friend of ours." So much easier.

I'm not sure what to vote. I don't lie or exaggerate, but I have been known to simplify in order to make something easier to explain (where the simplification has no bearing on the issue). I also don't necessarily tell 100% of a story, and I don't reveal everything about me. But I don't do that to deceive - I just like a certain amount of privacy. So I'm not sure I could say I am 100% truthful - but I also cannot say I am deceitful either. Enough of who I am comes through in my posts - people can trust that I am what I appear to be. I just don't put everything out there, ya know?

I joke around a lot, so am not serious when I'm joking, but I think those times are obvious (and I think that's different than being honest). I'm that way in real life, too. What you see is what you get, for the most part. I'm a goof here and in real life, but I'm also caring and supportive of others both here and in real life, so I do consider myself honest.


ETA, I now see that it's an old thread. I should read through before answering... But my answer doesn't change and I'm maybe more honest not than 4 years ago since I'm getting more honest with age. The older I get, the more I get the attitude that I don't give a flying fig about what others think. I still try to be tactful, but I don't care about skirting around the issues as much and I'm not as shy as I used to be.

As in real life, I stretch the truth occasionally to make my point.

I'm honest to a point. I don't necessarily put every little detail out there, so I guess it could be lies of omission. It is a public board and who knows who is reading everything so sometimes just generic information is better than specifics.

And I don't truly live under a rock even though I always say I do -- I guess technically it could be a tree? since it's a wood frame house?

What you see personality wise & information in general is what you get. No reason to lie, besides I would forget what I said as a lie. There is not enough room in my brain for such stuff...I have a hard enough time keeping track of my everyday stuff which usually ends up being "truth is stranger than fiction" around here.
