While I realize that there were some "new" voters who voted for the reason you are insinuating, I also think that there were many, many young people who voted for the first time. There was nothing really in the last election to inspire young people, Bush vs. Kerry wasn't overly young person oriented. It was all about the war. Obama offered something new and accessible to young peS, they voted to make sure they, their children and their parents have healthcare, they voted to bring their friends home from the war. ople so there were many 18-30 year olds who had never been interested in the process before.
