We've been to WDW 4 times, but never eaten at Chef Mickey's or O'Hana.
Need some help, what do you think of these 2 restaurants and would you go back to either.

Thanks

Everyone is gonna have varying opinions. Food is subjective.

For Chef Mickey's, I personally wouldn't go back, at least until I have kids or go with my little cousins. It's a fun restaurant for a younger family and feels like a huge party thrown for your family. It's the one place to meet all the characters, like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. The food is sub par. We've only been for breakfast, but it was warm, not hot, and the quality was lacking.

We love 'Ohana. The food is good, plentiful and it's a great value if you are big eaters. I think the biggest criticism at 'Ohana is the service. The service could feel a bit disjointed. Your server tends to disappear and you may see a bunch of different food handlers over the course of your meal. We really love the wings, though, as well as the pot stickers. The bread pudding is worth the trip alone. It's one of those places where every Disney fan needs to go at least once.

We like them both as we've eaten at both many times and have always had great experiences. With that said, if I had to choose just one, I'd go with Ohana. Ohana has less variety, but is still all you can eat and is served family style to your table. The atmosphere is also a little less hectic (IMO). Good luck.

We love the both but that being said chef Mickeys is primarily for the characters . Ohana was our absolute favorite we have tried so far .. Dinner. We had a spectacular service and the food was the best we've ever had . We are going back next month but I really want to try every restaurant there is so we probably will miss it this time ..

Chef Mickeys - only if you want to see the characters. and pretend you're at a character party. Do not go for the food.

'Ohana, I like it fine myself. But this restaurant seems to have the most inconsistent opinions. People either love it or hate it.

We've done both but you didn't say which meals. We have done breakfast and dinner at chef mickeys. We wouldn't go back my son would like to, but the food isn't a must have on our trip. We have only done Ohana for the character breakfast and it is my moms favorite breakfast. She loves the scrambled eggs there. It is quieter than the other but still has character interaction and the kids go around the room in a line with the characters. We would go back we've been maybe 4 times but didn't go last trip. As for dinner I can't say but I've read good reviews so I would try.

We've never been to Chef Mickey's, so I can't give an opinion on that. I haven't read many positive reviews about the food, however.

We like O'hana. It's my DS's favorite place on property. We were impressed with the food last visit and we've booked dinner for our upcoming trip. We did have a bit of a wait to be seated and our service was a tad slow, but I knew both of those would be a possibility going in, so they weren't a surprise.

The only reason to go to Chef Mickey's is the meet and greet. Other than that it is not worth it. The only reason we went there last time was to get the autographs out of the way with out wasting time in the parks.

We really like Chef Mickey's for breakfast. We did dinner once and it was okay. 'Ohana is one of our favorite "must do" places for dinner. We have never tried breakfast there.

Only been to Chef Mickey's and we won't go back. It was for the kids on our first trip. The food was at best average and the restaurant itself felt weird. It just didn't feel like Disney to me.

I would go (and have gone) back to both, multiple times. As a frame of reference, I consider myself a bit of a foodie, but I am not picky. I like everything from a chicken salad at Zaxby's up to fine dining.

Chef Mickey's dinner has awesome desserts and parmesan potatoes. I've never really had any complaints about the food at all, either breakfast or dinner. It has been just fine. The service has been terrible a couple times and then phenomenal a couple others. The atmosphere is wonderful: monorail zipping by, characters, napkin twirling, bright colors and cool graphics...LOVE it.

'Ohana is great at both breakfast and dinner, but dinner is our favorite. We like to have our last evening meal there to say goodbye to vacation. Service has always been good or very good. My DH and DSs love the meats, especially the steak and shrimp on skewers. I could eat the entire platter of pork dumplings by myself if I could distract my family long enough. We all love the bread pudding dessert. The entertainment and atmosphere of fun add to our enjoyment of the meal.

Can I get a better meal--more inspired menu, better presentation, the freshest of ingredients, skillfully cooked by a top chef--at my favorite bistro? Well, of course. But it doesn't have Disney touches!

Ohana dinner is a must do for us.
Chef Mickey's is a never again.
YMMV

We did Chef Mickey for breakfast and it was ok. The food was better than expected after reading so many terrible reviews. That being said I wouldn't do it again.
Ohana we did both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was decent. Dinner was fabulous. Dinner I would do again. Breakfast probably not. This trip however we are paying out of pocket and my son is now charged as an adult (10 yr old) and frankly now it's not worth it to me.

I agree with the others- we skipped Chef Mickey's this time and didn't miss it. It is fun for kids that want to see those characters, but those characters are also available at better character meals in my opinion (not all together, though).

Ohana is one of our favorites, we do dinner there every trip!

Oh, Tusker House Breakfast is a must do, that's where we go to see the characters. it's more doable for us than Chef Mickey's

DVC members with Bay Lake Tower as our home resort, Chef Mickey's is our departure day breakfast tradition. We have never been disappointed in any way regarding food quality, service or character interaction. 'Ohana is another favourite of mine for either breakfast or dinner but DW does not enjoy the dinner items EXCEPT for the bread pudding dessert. We have bookings for both for our next trip, as well.

Chef Mickey's is a good breakfast buffet IMO. 'Ohana I've heard great things about their dinner, breakfast is good too.

We have only been to Chef Mickeys for breakfast. Its decent. Would I go if there were no characters, no. The food (for breakfast) is much better at Bome, 1900 Park Fare or Crystal Palace for buffet, and a la cart I prefer any place! Its probably at the bottom of the breakfast list, only slightly above Tusker House IMO. But, thats not saying is disgusting...just average, but the characters make it special.

We've done Ohana for breakfast and dinner many times. Personally, I like Epcot restaurants over the dinner, though my husband is a big meat eater and enjoys the all upu care to eat here. My kids have fun playing limbo and coconut races and, though I do not like bananas and wont even try it, I already read rave reviews about the dessert. Again...its OK..even better than OK, but not GREAT. I would choose Via Napol8i, Les Chefs de France or San Angel Inn any day over Ohana. If you are planning to be at the MK, its a great place for breakfast or dinner, away from the crowds and the monorail ride is fun too.

And thats my honest opinion!!!

I like Chef Mickey's. It's not a must do, but I'd definitely go back.
I like Ohana too, but I mostly go for the bread pudding, which I can buy at the Tambu Lounge.
