Anyone have experience at Homecoming in Disney Springs with a dairy allergy? I love the style of food they serve, but am nervous about making a reservation without knowing how accommodating they can be to allergies in our party.

No experience because DH is allergic to peppers. Seemed unreasonable to expect there'd be much without.

Since there are no allergy-friendly dishes listed, it may not be a Disney-owned restaurant. We've found that the DS non-Disney restaurants are sometimes not that helpful.

I would be skeptical for that reason but don't know how accommodating they may be.

I have that allergy, and I avoid Southern-cooking and Italian restaurants like the plague. There's just no way you'll get many options on the menu. I think one of the vegan food sites did a review, and they now have some salad and side dish options which they didn't have before that they can modify, but know going in that (as of a few months ago) the fryer is still a shared fryer, so you can't really get fried foods b/c it will all be cross-contaminated, so all the "fried items" - fried chicken, donuts, fried "vegan" chicken, etc - are out for most dairy allergy sufferers...

If you've not already thought to do this, it's a good idea to suggest that anyone in your party needing to avoid dairy look at the Disney official menus. Allergy-friendly menu items are listed at the bottom.

There may not be more than 1-2 indicated "safe for dairy allergy" for any given TS restaurant. And, unlike pre-covid, a number of them may say they can't modify other menu items. What I was told was that most items are now "pre-prepared" with seasonings and marinades. As a result, the restaurant can't fix a plain piece of chicken or fish; they have very few raw ingredients currently.

Looking over the kids allergy menus may be useful. Sometimes, that's how I had to order to get anything but steak and salad since kids menu items were often not marinated, seasoned or coated. They will fix an adult portion.

I must avoid both dairy and gluten which proved far more difficult than in the past. Trattoria al Forno and Topolino's chefs created marvelous dishes for me. Either might be one to try.

We're experienced in the world of Disney dining with allergies. We've had a lot of great experiences and really appreciate the allergy menus. I just wasn't sure about Homecoming, since it isn't Disney official. Thanks for the post though, I had not encountered dishes that couldn't be modified yet even when dining at the places that had no safe for milk allergy items on their menu. So, that's good to know that some places may not be able to accommodate at all.

Ah, sorry to have insulted, then.

Make it most rather than some TS these days. I hope it's simply pandemic supply issues and not the wave of the future at the Disney-owned restaurants.

Of course, that mine are both gluten and dairy rendered the allergy menus pretty nearly useless unless I wanted salad for lunch and dinner.

It was disappointing that so few places had things I could eat when practically every TS had been wonderful in the past.

My son is peanut and Treenut allergy and they were very nice and accommodating when we went there. I realize it’s a different allergy but I think if you try to call there and speak to someone regarding your dairy allergy they would be helpful. At least that was my experience. Good luck

Good to hear they were accommodating for that allergy. I know that can be a truly difficult one.
Maybe I will give them a call.

We have never eaten at Homecomin‘ because we knew would have an issue as I have family members with food allergies of dairy and can’t have certain spices and need to have no to low salt. We were just at Disney in November and every TS we ate still had pieces of meat or fish that had not been marinated and the meals were just as wonderful as they always had been including our favorite buffet Boma. We tried the AYCTE platter for lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern for the first time and it was great.

No help here, just wanted to say, my son also has a dairy allergy and we have not tried homecoming because so few items look like they'd come dairy free. He'd want fried chicken. As do we all😉.

I would call them. My mother has a page of allergies (though not dairy). We went there last June and they were very accommodating. We loved it so much we are going back for our May trip. 🙂

❤ fried chicken

Have you been to 50's Prime Time? They have dairy free fried chicken. We tried it last year and it was pretty good.
