Home resort SSR - want OKW in September - book now or wait?

DH and I recently purchased at our home resort, SSR, and had a great first trip there last month. Next September DD and I will be going alone and seems like OKW might be best as there are 2 beds in the studio rather than 1 bed and a sofa bed which we would have to make up each night.

My question is - should I book SSR now and (hopefully) swap to OKW at the 7 month window or wait till the 7 month window? (I'm assuming that September would not be that difficult to book then - is this right?)

Also, if I did book SSR and then swap to OKW, the difference in points is 15 - would this be refunded with no penalty at 7 months?

Yes, you can wait until the 7 month mark to swap out, and the 15 points will be put right back into your account to use for future booking or banking etc.

The fifteen points will be refunded and can be banked IF you are still within your banking window. You didn't say what your UY is so that will determine if the points can be banked.

I suggest you wait. Clearly, there is no benefit to booking now, or is there ?

I always book my home resort at the 11 month mark just to ensure I have a resort booked if my 7 month choice is full. I doubt this would happen in Sept but you never know.

If this is a trip you are absolutely set on making then I'd book SSR at 11 and try to switch the reservation at 7 month window to OKW. At least you have the peace of mind knowing that you do have a reservation should it not work out at OKW at 7 months.

Actually, my home resort is SSR. I attempted to book a reservation for SSR this past weekend for Oct 21-25, and was given OKW, which isn't even my home resort, and I own no points for. So, I reckon that it wouldn't hurt to ask. I'm amazed that apparently SSR was unavailable.
