Okay. I'm sitting here with DH watch "Christmas Vacation". Sparky's stuck in the attic and is watching old home movies.....and he's crying.

I have boxes of home movies but, I have a hard time watching them. I'm very sentimental and a weeper.

Anybody else have a difficult time reminiscing?

:guilty: I wish I had some to watch. All of ours were left in an attic when we moved in the 70's.

I have never even watched any home movies of DD. Too hard. She's just 14 and I am not ready for it. LOL I have a hard time looking at pictures...

As far as from when I was a kid--we have a lot. And, there are a lot of people in all of them who have died. We showed some one Christmas when DD was little (I am sure she does not remember) when my family was together but my Pop-Pop was already gone. It was extremely hard. Now, my dad is gone and I do not think I could bare to even see them at this point. I think I'd bawl like a baby for him and it'd be a scene.

So, I think I am more than a weeper. I'm a bawler. Geez...

I see my babies.....and they are now all grown up.....where did the time go? I see my grandmother's smiling, bright blue eyes......she's been gone for 26 years. Oh, I'm just thinking about them and the tears are welling up!

umm. yeah I am a cryer. Can't help it. I just watch those old movies, like us at WDW or Hawaii, any of Michigan trips and I just cry.

I guess it's because of all the time gone. I hope we have used it wisely with our children.

Dan Murphy had pictures at WDW last October that he put together for me that were from a previous trip we'd done when we met up with him. My dad was in those. My dad liked Dan so much...

and now I'm crying just thinking about it.

It was a joke between dad and I that dad was gonna meet up with Dan again one day and treat him to a Casey's hotdog on Main Street. Hey big spender...LOL.

But truly (now that I have pulled myself together), it was a very kind thing for Dan to put together for us. My heart was so touched by that. But Dan Murphy does things like that for people. Ok...I'm crying again.

I have 2 eras of home movies- ones where me and my brother were little kids and my dad was in them and I am sad watching them sincehe died young-55- and I just think about how much he would have loved knowing his grand daughter . The other set is my godson from birth until he died at 14 and those are REALLY hard to watch and they are also my daughters first year in there mixed with him so it rips me apart to see him so healthy and then being ripped apart by cancer over the years.

I remember the pic of the two of them that was in your sig, aprilgail. His story always made me sad. 14... I see, that is how old my daughter is now. I can't fathom the pain.

That was one of the last pictures I had of them together- he had the biggest smile on his face and so did she- he was so proud of being her godfather, he loved her to pieces. Makes me sad that she will never know/remember him. He would be 21 years old now and I can only imagine what kind of man he would have been by now.

I can generally watch home movies right now of my kiddos, but they're only 6 and 20 months. I totally expect that as the years go on, and they don't want to spend much time with me and they get their own lives; I'm sure I'll be watching them and sobbing. I really do think that there's a great chance that I'll seriously go into a depression when my kids go off to college and especially when the last one leaves. I completely see the picture of myself when my kids are out of the house; I'm in pj's wrapped up in blankets on my bed sobbing and watching their home videos and crying in my pillow.
