Home Depot $50 off $100 coupon

Does it bother anyone that this coupon was meant for a specific type/group of consumer & that by posting it on deal sites, sharing it with others, & selling on eBay, you are ruining it for everyone?

Companies are pulling back from releasing certains types of coupons, & stores are refusing to accept many printed/internet coupons because of this type of fraud.

Sure, I would've loved this coupon for a Christmas gift, but it wasn't meant for me. I hate to sound all high & mighty here, but this really bothers me.

Off my soapbox now......

Yep. What HD should have done was make the codes one time use, or make it so that you had to bring in the mailer. Hallmark went through this a couple of Christmases ago where they had a $5 off $25 that was supposed to be just for people who got the email, but it went viral, etc. Now, those coupons are barcoded for one time use and you have to present your rewards card that matches the acct. to which the coupon was sent. HD will learn this lesson too, the hard way.

I hope they don't honor the ones sold by that one seller linked here. They sold 100 of them at $8.99 each. They are from my same city Tallahassee, FL. I have seen the person who I think this is. They frequent slickdeals, clear the shelves of every sale every week and then sell everything at the flea market. I hope they are forced to refund all the money and have their reputation ruined on Ebay. Not only did they get a coupon that wasn't meant for them, but they proceeded to setup 100 different emails to get the coupon that many times over, abuse the system and then make money from people who may have gotten the coupon for free except for their greed.

Yeah I saw this morning on the Slickdeals site that people were recommending to get into the store and use the coupon right away because Home Depot would likely quit honoring them.

I really don't care enough one way or another to form a moral opinion on the coupon. Yes, it was meant to be a controlled distribution and yes Home Depot really screwed up the control part.

I wish I would have gotten one though. DH has been coveting a $350 ladder.

Update:

My $50 off $100 coupon for Home Depot was set to expire today. I had not been there yet, but needed some materials for a job we were doing.

Bought $137.25 worth of stuff, and then the cashier scanned the coupon.

It worked! :cheer2: Fifty bucks off!

The cashier was stunned, since she had never seen such a coupon before!

Thanks to the folks here who provided the link! :thumbsup2
