Home decorating inspiration.

we are moving to a brand new house in a few weeks. It is a much bigger house with more rooms and bigger rooms. It is a blank canvas, with the exception of the furnishings that will be moving with us.

We no longer have cable, so I can't watch the design shows on hgtv and whatnot. However, we have streaming channels.

Do yo know of websites and/or streaming channels that feature home decorating?

Houzz and Pinterest are my go-to sites but I usually have specific ideas in mind rather than just general searches. I use them a lot to see rooms done in potential paint colors that I am considering.

I subscribe to Texture, a digital magazine provider. In my favorites are:

Country Living
Do it Yourself
HGTV Mag
House and Home
This Old House

Lots of great ideas in all of these.

My only suggestion would be, don't be in a rush! You don't have to do it all at once. Spend time in each room, thinking about what color scheme might speak to you and what accent items you want. Also, don't be compelled to go formal if you're not formal people, or vice versa. Stick with what suits you, rather than what's the "it" item/style of the moment.

Good luck. We've been in our current house ~20 months. It's more than twice the size of our previous home. By and large, it's decorated in "we have 4 kids and 5 pets". Ironically, the room I've put the most decorating thought into is the sun room, which I wanted in a beachy-casual theme. We live just a couple miles form the ocean, so this was very easy to achieve (inexpensive, too). I would love to completely re-do my master bath and kitchen, but some jerks in Indiana won our mega-millions jackpot, so those will have to wait.
