The wonderful thing about this procedure is that the doctor is usually able to get all of the cancer out, though there is no guarantee, since it is done in stages until the last biopsy shows there's nothing left.
The bad thing is I am at a much higher risk of having more of these show up. My dermatologist and surgeon had mentioned, after the first time, that within 5 years I had a more than 50% chance that another would be found. They found another one within the first year!
I must be thankful that I found a wonderful surgeon and that she took care of it for me. I will hope for the best.
